Publisher's Summary

#1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER • Lisbeth Salander returns, in a trailblazing new installment to the bestselling Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series • Also known as the Millennium series

“Lisbeth Salander is back—and maybe better than ever. Karin Smirnoff’s take is both respectful of the past and ready for the future—altogether remarkable.”—Lee Child, author of No Plan B

Change is coming to Sweden’s far north: its untapped natural resources are sparking a gold rush with the criminal underworld leading the charge. But it’s not the prospect of riches that brings Lisbeth Salander to the small town of Gasskas. She has been named guardian to her niece Svala, whose mother has disappeared. Two things soon become clear: Svala is a remarkably gifted teenager—and she’s being watched.

Mikael Blomkvist is also heading north. He has seen better days. Millennium magazine is in its final print issue, and relations with his daughter are strained. Worse still, there are troubling rumors surrounding the man she’s about to marry. When the truth behind the whispers explodes into violence, Salander emerges as Blomkvist’s last hope.

A pulse-pounding thriller, The Girl in the Eagle’s Talons sees Salander and Blomkvist navigating a world of conspiracy and betrayal, old enemies and new friends, ice-bound wilderness and the global corporations that threaten to tear it apart.

Difficult to understand

Not a great Audible choice, couldn’t understand the accent and tug names were very difficult.

Not well written, boring & not in keeping with the rest of the series

It feels like the author of this did not read any of the precious books. I am 10 chapters in and there is ZERO semblance of a plot. Lisbeth hasn’t even made it into the story yet. The author is just meandering around narrating these random stories without the writing skills necessary to make them flow properly together. It’s a frustrating and confusing read/listen.

The narrator is also difficult to understand. I don’t know why they changed them. You won’t be able to understand the names of people she is saying which compounds the general confusion of the book.

I will not be continuing to read this. It is ruining what was once my favourite book series.

Audible keeps erasing my review

This book is the ruin of a once great series!

Because this will likely not stay up that’s all I’ll say.

High hopes for continuing storyline… disappointed

Rushed ending with poor resolution of storyline. Relationships throughout the novel felt forced and poorly developed. Cast of characters were the same as the original novels but lacked personality and felt forced

Difficult to follow

For those of us who can’t pronounce Swedish names and places, this was a very difficult audible to follow. There were so many characters introduced and so many storylines jumping around that this also didn’t help with the understanding of this novel. It might be easier to follow if it was read so that at least the reader might recognize names and actions. It also didn’t help that the narrator spoke in a monotone with no noticeable difference in the characters’ voices.
I had to return it after only a few chapters because of frustration.

Difficult to follow

Not as good as the previous book by far. The characters are not the same. Mikael and Lisbeth sound like new characters and they are basically never together

The names were tough

I found I had to slow it down a bit. I really liked the story but there were similar names (to an untrained ear. This would have got 5 stars if not so many names starting with S.

Good but a bit long

I found it to be a good story but it took me a while to sort out how the title made sense to the story line.
