Maya loves to cook with her grandmother - her Halmunee - to connect with the rich family history associated with each dish, a history Maya's mom would prefer stayed in the past. While cooking with Halmunee, something remarkable happens - the food creates such a strong memory that Maya and Halmunee are transported back in time through the memory itself. The Golden Orchard

I loved this book. The rich descriptions & emotions pull you into Maya’s journey. Family history & relationships can be complicated & difficult, & Maya’s desire to learn more about her family is relatable. I also loved the time travel aspect of the story. I definitely plan to listen again. I’d happily recommend this book to anyone.
