À propos de cet audio

Our first kiss was a lie. Our second was a mistake. And the night we spent tangled up in each other? Hot as hell, but a complete disaster.

Because now Sutton Sinclair—the sharp-tongued troublemaker who left claw marks down my back and a dent in my self-control—is living in my backyard cottage with her teenage daughter. And I’m her goddamn landlord.

I like things quiet. Controlled. She's neither. Sutton’s chaos wrapped in sunshine, a temptation in scrubs I can’t seem to stay away from.

When her ex shows up acting like Sutton’s still his to lose, I claim her on instinct. The kiss? Hot. The fallout? Immediate.

Now my family—and the entire town—thinks we’re a couple.

Fake dating Sutton wasn’t in my playbook, but if being a pro-footballer turned high school coach has taught me anything, it’s how to pivot. All I have to do is keep my hands to myself.

Then her cottage floods.

Now we’re sharing a roof…and a bed. The line between real and fake is blurring faster than I can redo the guest house.

This is supposed to be temporary. But Sutton doesn’t just crash into my life—she rewrites it. She’s in my home, moaning my name, breaking every rule I’ve ever lived by.

And I’m starting to want something permanent with the woman who’s already got one foot out the door.

Atlas is top tier book boyfriend material

This is a spicy romance with with some humour, angst and a tiny bit of mystery. The hero is a dirty talker so some listeners may not appreciate some of the language. The hero's terminology was used to describe but not used to name-call the heroine so I was okay with it for the most part. The character development was good, including the teenage girl so that was nice surprise. There are emotional layers and, for the most part, the characters are mature so there isn't a lot of soap opera type drama. It would have been nice if there was a bit more mystery and it would have been a hoot to see these characters deal with a pregnancy / baby. ...funny. On the other hand, it was nice the plot wasn't overly convoluted. The narration was excellent.
Note: The bonus chapters offered at the end of this book contain a triggering scene.

Spicy!

Well, well, well… wasn’t this a spicy little surprise? The Grump Next Door totally hit the spot. Sutton and Atlas were smoking hot together, and I loved every single trope packed in here—fake dating, forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine, single mom—you name it, it’s got it. And somehow it all worked without feeling like too much.

Also, can we talk about Laurel for a sec? Sutton’s sixteen-year-old daughter was such a highlight. Her sarcasm and quick wit had me laughing out loud more than once—she really brought so much light and fun to the story.

The audiobook narration was perfection. Jason Clark and Emma Wilder nailed the chemistry and made it super easy to binge. I’ll definitely be checking out the rest of this series!

Spicy little surprise.

This book!!! I thoroughly enjoyed it! From the moment these two met with their meet cute and insane chemistry, I was hooked!

I love a good grump and with the enemies to lovers vibes and the banter I was easily sucked in! Sutton and Atlas had the best relationship, I enjoyed all the different ways it changed and evolved, all the tension and the way they just couldn’t fight pull between them (and believe me they tried) was so wonderful.

I really loved how both characters had great growth. My heart went out to both them, having been through things in their lives that had them weary of relationships and love. Them being together added so much fulfillment to their lives in an unexpected way.

Sutton had the best personality, I loved her wit, strength and independence. Atlas was the best kind of grumpy you could want! But the way he softened for Sutton and her daughter melted my heart. He was deliciously protective and sweet in all the best ways, even if it took him a bit to caught up at times. These two really learned how to open up to another person, you could feel how perfect they were together. I spicy…oh boy could they steam up a page!

Laurel, Sutton’s daughter, gets a special shout out- the perfectly written teenanger! I loved the relationships she had with both her mom and Atlas so much! They made the best little family.

The Steele brothers are going to make for a great series. I can not wait for the next one! I’ll have to go back and read the Starlight Cove series too-I couldn’t get enough of this fun little small town!

I really liked having this one on audio. Jason Clarke nailed the grump that is Atlas! Emma was very enjoyable to listen to. Having this in duet was wonderful, really allowed me to full be part of the story and convey all the emotions and banter well!

Audio really elevated a great story!
