Publisher's Summary

From Sandie Jones, the New York Times best-selling author of the Hello Sunshine Book Club pick The Other Woman, comes The Half Sister, a compelling new domestic suspense novel about a family who is forever changed when a stranger arrives at their door.

Meet the half sister, and unravel the ties that blind us.

The truth.

Sisters Kate and Lauren meet for Sunday lunch every week without fail, especially after the loss of their father.

The lie.

But a knock at the door is about to change everything. A young woman by the name of Jess holds a note with the results of a DNA test, claiming to be their half sister.

The unthinkable.

As the fallout starts, it's clear that they are all hiding secrets, and perhaps this family isn't as perfect as it appears.

Tired story

The narrator did a good job. But the story itself was quite boring and hard to get into. All the story lines were predictable... Not my cup of tea. Loved the authors first book but this one and her second just not as enjoyable.

Well put together story.

A story about how keeping secrets can destroy relationships. Both sisters were interesting and dynamically written. I never felt a lull in the story line and the end was somewhat surprising (you kind of put together possible scenarios by the last few chapters).

It’s been the first book in a long that I was able to listen and enjoy (I’m a very picky reader).

I enjoyed it

Good book, I enjoyed the mystery, and the different struggles throughout. It was also clean, which I always appreciate.

Redeemed !!

What happens when families don’t communicate!!

So happy I bought this book! I enjoyed her first book but the second was meh for me. This was my favorite. Took a second to get into it on audio but happy I stuck with it. Great job.

Not bad, not great

I don’t understand how this book got f5 stars. But then again we are all different and we have a right to our opinions. That’s what reviews are for. Personally I thought this book was all over the place. The author kept adding new plots. Even one in the 10th hour! It was as if she couldn’t decide what she wanted her mystery to be. There were literally 4-5 mysteries in this book which made it start to seem ridiculous. It ended abruptly and you don’t know what ended up happening with the last mystery. Annoying.

Abrupt Ending

The structure was too convoluted to move inexorably to the ending. Felt contrived and poorly developed. Characters were underdeveloped and the action was full of cliches. The use of present tense, an apparently new trend, was distracting and unnecessary.

Great narration!

Sandie Jones Does it Again

Fantastic book. Sandie Jones did it again. If you loved her first two books, you won't be disappointed. The characters are deep, the relationships are complex, and the storyline is phenomenal. Just when you think you know what the truth is, it takes a twist and goes another direction. Well done, Sandie Jones.
