Publisher's Summary
When a young woman vanishes without a trace from a quaint fishing village on the coast of England, only one person knows the truth, but he remains silent allowing the authorities to search for her in vain.
Meanwhile, Valerie Crane finds herself transported to the year 1605.
Terrified and confused, she turns for help to the Whitfield brothers, who take her in and offer her a home.
Both Alexander and Finlay Whitfield fall in love with the mysterious woman, who shows up on their doorstep, creating a love triangle that threatens to consume them all.
Valerie must make her choice, deciding between the brother who will lead her down the path of destruction, or one who will give her a love she couldn’t find in her own time.

Can't wait to listen to the next book!
My Audible library houses 20 of Irina Shapiro's books. I am a fan of her work and although this was one of her earlier books, it didn't disappoint. I loved the narration! I'm already invested in Alec, Valerie, little Finn and Louisa. I can't wait to see if someone travels forward or back in time...
If you are waiting on the next release in this series, I would suggest downloading and listening to Echoes from the Past and/or The Wonderland series while waiting. You won't be disappointed!!

Very entertaining
I've listened to almost a dozen Irina Shapiro books and have enjoyed them all. This one is her first book as she told me and was nervous about the quality. Well she shouldn't have worried. I quite enjoyed it. Sometimes you just need a book that is just whimsical and doesn't need any explanation as to why things happen. You can just enjoy the journey of the characters and the world they have been set in. This is one if those books. It went by very quickly. I am looking forward to book 2. The narrator did a fine job. A few mispronounced words, but nothing terrible. She has a good tone and kept at a good pace. I recommend this book.

Wonderful Story!
So glad this is available on audio. I have this on my kindle and its a wonderful read.
Irina Shapiro is one of my favorite authors. I discovered her wonderful work after getting my first kindle. This is a book is full of surprises as it carries you away in time to an amazing adventure. The narration is well done and the main characters voice sounds the way I had always pictured her to sound. Do not hesitate on this one Guys

A wonderful begining.
This is one of Irina Shapiro's earlier books. It is a delightful beginning to this series. I cant wait for the rest of the series to make it to audible.
I enjoy all of Irina Shapiro's books and liked this one as well. It is quite interesting to watch her writing grow and change over time. I also enjoyed the narrator, this is the first time I have listened to her and I found her voice pleasant and easy to listen to. I do wish she had a wider range in her voices. All in an it was very enjoyable. Irina Shapiro is one of a few authors that is an automatic buy for me when something new comes out.

Two story’s in one
Two storylines, one in the present and one in 1605! While on vacation in England A clock with time travel ability sends Valerie back in time to the year 1605. While Valerie’s sister searches for her in present day Valerie is taken in by the Whitfield brothers Alex and Finn. Valerie begins to build a life in 1605 that would take her all the way back to America.

Be careful what you touch!!
An enchanting story of a heartbroken woman who finds herself in a precarious situation but makes the best of it and finds happiness and fulfillment. The moral of this story might be to keep your hands to yourself and not touch things that don’t belong to you! Well narrated with a good pace, story development and believable characters.

Time Travel
I'm a big fan of Ms. Shapiro. Of her books that I've read, this one did not appeal to me as much as her other books. It is historical fiction going from present day to 1605. There is a twist that makes the story a bit more interesting. I felt that the audio could have been improved by using a different reader. I found her voice a bit annoying, but that is purely personal preference.

lost my attention
I was excited about this book.... long about 4 hours in I lost interest. I ended up playing the epilogue just to know how it ended.
