Around 2,000 years ago, after Jesus arose from the dead and ascended to heaven, the gift of the Holy Spirit was given to teach, assist and comfort Christians. Miracles, healing and the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit as defined in 1 Corinthians, are for today: not just New Testament times.
