Publisher's Summary

An audio drama collection.

For the first time, get seven classic audio dramas from the Horus Heresy in one fantastic collection - including a brand-new audio drama edition of Dan Abnett's short story 'Little Horus'.

If you don't know where to start with Horus Heresy audio, this curated collection is the perfect beginning - and if you just want to reexperience these exciting adventures, this is your chance!

For more than 200 years, the armies of the Emperor of Mankind fought to reconquer the galaxy - led by the superhuman primarchs, the Space Marine Legions brought countless worlds back under the rule of ancient Terra. Now Horus, once honoured Warmaster and favoured son of the Emperor, has been corrupted by the whispered promises of Chaos. At his command the Imperium is torn apart by a terrible and bloody civil war, the likes of which the galaxy has never seen....

This audio drama anthology contains seven stories, detailing brutal wars - from the aftermath of the Isstvan V massacre to the horrors of the Shadow Crusade and even the doorstep of Terra itself - and bringing new insights into the heroes and villains of the Horus Heresy. It also includes a brand-new audio drama version of Dan Abnett's classic short story 'Little Horus', specially converted into a script and recorded for this collection.

Performed by Gareth Armstrong, John Banks, Tim Bentinck, Steve Conlin, Rupert Degas, Martyn Eliis, Chris Fairbank, Andrew Fettes, Jonathan Keeble, Angus King, Toby Longworth, Charlotte Paige, Jamie Parker, Richard Reed, Tania Rodrigues, David Seddon, Ramon Tikaram, David Timson and Tim Treloar.

Good stories, not sure about the sounds

Good stories as I said, I did enjoy the book over all but I kinda take issue with the need for so many voice actors and sound effects. I would prefer a single narrator without all the background noise they added in.
I personally feel these books would be better served with a single reader though that is just my opinion.
Buy this title if: you want to know more about characters and events related to the heresy, there is even one involving malcadore!

Avoid this if: you are looking for the actual Horus heresy series, the labeling on this one is kind of miss leading

Note:
This is a series of short stories and not the actual Horus heresy series

Very enjoyable

I thought this was a very cool rendition of the usual audio books I listen to, almost like watching a show,

chaotic

I grabbed this to try to understand Warhammer 40k, wrong choice, poor description, sound effects taking away from listening. moving around on characters is not explained, no background on clans or armies as to why or what. Not a good start in the W40K world for me

The Crescendo is the Best Part

I've been a few years out of The Heresy but didn't want to go back and listen to the 4 good books, so I used my credit on this, and you should too.

Very cool takes on Legions from odd angles. I sound like a Schill but I just bought more creds to get volume 2.

A great mix

Each of the stories were well written, produced and voice acted. Definitely a fan of this format for short stories. Good if you want more digestable stories and don't want to spend a month's credit on a single story.

Visceral

I love these stories. The writers are perfect wordsmiths. Epic battles and heart wrenching betrayal.

It's only flaw may be that the story is rather hard to follow at times.

I personally enjoyed reading these books to listening.
