A steamy enemies-to-lovers romance, magic, and destiny are swept together in The Hurricane Wars, the spellbinding debut in a fantasy romance trilogy set in a Southeast Asia–inspired world

All Talasyn has ever known is the Hurricane Wars. Growing up an orphan in a nation under siege by the ruthless Night Emperor, she found her family among the soldiers who fight for freedom. But Talasyn is hiding a deadly secret: light magic runs through her veins, a blazing power that can cut through the Night Empire’s shadows, believed to have been wiped out years ago.

Prince Alaric is his father’s weapon, sworn to obliterate any threats to the Night Empire’s rule with his mighty shadow magic. He and Talasyn lock into a deadly dance that neither can seem to truly win, until, in a clash of light and dark, their powers merge to create a strange new force—and a dangerous, forbidden attraction reveals itself.

This war can only end with them. But an even greater danger is coming, and Talasyn and Alaric must decide... can they work together to save their world, or will they end up destroying each other?

It was captivating and an amazing listen! Haven’t read such a good book in a while. Sad that I finished it but happy there will be more!

I liked it in general. Story was good, new kind of worlds etc. Not so much of intrigues but still I liked.

Narration : if you like a performance where it is full of emotions, that’s your next book to listen to, she was great in interpretation. For my part though, it felt was for 80% of the book the main characters where angry, shouting or growling which made it difficult for me to enjoy 100% of it.

I still recommend, maybe in reading instead of listening to :)

Good story / emotional narration

my love for the publishing story behind this book (if you know, you know) carried me along. I really hate to say it, but the sequel is much better. This is a fine reading experience but I have trouble recommending this to anyone who isn't already bought into the tropes and the premise. I much preferred Monsoon Rising.

The Sequel is much better.

Really enjoyed the characters and the story. I’m very excited for the next book and will re-listen to this again while I wait.

Excited for the next one
