This novel makes totally no sense, I believe that this was trying to be unpredictable. And hells, the ending, four chapters of dragged out maudlin rubbish, with another contrived "plot twist".

There are much better historical romances on Audible,

I enjoyed this book the first time as a teenager and I enjoyed it much more than I expected it to as an adult. The plot is silly and the book could probably be a few chapters shorter, but it is fun and lighthearted to read and the narrator did a lovely job.
