Beautiful and Raw, 10/10 recommend

I'm not one for poetry generally but this was beautiful and raw and had me emotional during the first part of my shift. Kudos to Beth May for writing these beautiful poems and allowing us to take a peek inside her.

I did(n't) need to cry at work

I did need this, though. and I absolutely lost it at "notifications". I mean I wasn't uncontrollably sobbing, but that was the overflow after the build up. Like the drop in your stomach, and the swelling in your throat. if I had to talk jt would be strained and shakey.

I was looking for something light, not necessarily like... emotionally but something easy to listen to while at work. lots of driving, lots of stop and go, so lots of pausing. and even though this was only an hour and a bit, with those pauses it felt longer, and it had time to sink in lol

I haven't read a book in years, and I still say I love reading. usually I go for teen fantasy type books like Inkheart, and Magyk, and The Last Apprentice, so this is a bit out of my norm but I'm glad I did it 😅

Also, having the author do the talky bits adds to it for sure
