About this listen

How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others' ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven't seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

The major thing to mention about this book is that it isn't linear. It doesn't have a traditional book structure. It has multiple POVs and the characters are young, so the dialogue reflects that.

I liked this book much better than the first one. I liked the characters more. This is definitely more of a character-story. The mystery of the invasion is really intriguing and makes me want to buy the next book.

Voice acting is on point. After a while, I got used to the 1st perspective.

It's probably not for everyone, but I recommend this book.

Enjoyable characters and intriguing mystery.

The action parts were good, but the dialogue got a little boring at times. There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, it had my attention enough to check out the next book in the series.

Some Action, Lots of Dialogue
