As Osric and Aurienne work together to solve not only his illness but the mysterious reoccurrence of the Pox, they find themselves ardently denying their attraction which only fuels the tension between them.

I loved thisssss. it's the slowest burn but I think it somehow just makes sure everything falls into place. I love these kind of stories which not only explore characters but also explain the world and the fantasy

The narration of this audiobook is absolutely phenomenal. I nearly lost my mind listening to it because I often find myself pushing through audiobooks because the book itself is great, but I can’t stand the voices. In this case, the book was made BETTER because of the narrations from both actor and actress. Amazing, amazing, amaaaaazing!

The irresistible urge to fall in love for your enemy by Brigitte Knightley is the first book in the Dearly Beloathed Duet. This is the funniest, so fresh and out of this world book I have devoured this year. Beeing advertised as a Darmione fan fic I think is wrong, this book not only has its own backbone but is so unique. The world building is phenomenal and the magic system is unique.
The FMC, Aurienne, is a scientist, very competent and strong. She loves her work and she respects her work environment and colleagues. She is the perfect example on HOW to write an excellent smart character with amazing vocabulary, that is related to her work! You can relate to her admiration for what she does!
The MMC, Osric, this mannnnnnn!!! He is sarcastic, clever and witty.
It is hard to find books with not only banter but to laugh at everything they say or think! This book is a RARITY! A FLAWLESS DIAMOND!! This is a very slow burn and adds to an even better enemies to lovers, however the banter is simply top notch! This is a story that will live rent free in my head forever.
Audiobook is performed in dual narration by Heather Long and Thomas Judd, they have breathed life into these characters! Other than wishing this was a duet, this is a brilliant book.

I was enjoying this story, and the characters are great, until it abruptly ended at what felt like the half-way point. The world building.., well the story needs some. Can't just throw in a glossary as the only world building. I have almost as many complaints as compliments. When it ended, I actually had no idea. I've never had that that happen before. It's more like 1 book that was cut in half, and this is the first half. I felt a bit cheated. That said, I look forward to seeing how this author develops with more experience and feedback. Real potential here. I'll get the "second" book if I can get over the feeling of being a bit ripped off. We'll see.
