Story
I'm not so different from most people. Like everyone else, I have life goals. Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am. Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete. Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad. Goal #4: Eat popcorn. See? Perfectly normal. Sort of. Gotta start small, after all. It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

Story
S'bren doesn't realize what a mess he's stepping in when he steals me away. He just wants to resonate. Sweet, right? But his methods are all wrong and resonance doesn't look as if it's happening anytime soon for either of us. So I'm going to use this time away from the camp as an opportunity. We're going to go exploring and not return to the beach camp until I'm good and ready. It's one part punishment for him - being my guide - and one part adventure for me. We'll have fun, swing from some vines in the fruit cave, and then return to Icehome when we're good and ready.

Story
What's a bigger disaster than being stranded on an ice planet with a bunch of aliens, never to return home? Resonating to the biggest jerk of all those aliens, of course. I hate M'tok, and it seems to be mutual. He thinks I'm ugly and unpleasant, and doesn't understand why I don't just fling myself at him. In his eyes, resonance has decided, and that's that. Problem is, resonance keeps pushing us together. And when that doesn't make me jump into his furs...he steals me away from the camp. I can't avoid him if there's nowhere to go.

Adventure. It's what my boring life is missing, so when I fall through a portal into another world, I'm excited. Here, I'm important. Here, I'm special. I find out just how special when I meet Death. He's been exiled to the mortal realm to work through his flaws, and he's just as spoiled and awful as you'd think. Rhagos, the Shadow Lord, is arrogant and rude and controlling and demands to get his way. He's selfish. He's impossible. He's also utterly gorgeous.

It's hard to make friends with the other women at the Icehome camp when you'd rather be dissecting the local fauna. Which is why I'm surprised when one of the big, brawny islanders asks me to help him make a prosthetic leg. I don't know N'dek, but since I'm a scientist, he wants my help. And while I'm more into dinosaurs than anatomy, I love a challenge. As we work together, I come to see that N'dek's not just clever and determined, he's also protective and sweet. And he kisses like a fiend.

One person has not forgotten her. Mathior, now 24, is the fierce warrior king of the Cyclopae. Yshrem is in turmoil and his advisors have a suggestion - kill the last remaining member of the royal line, and there will be no rivals for the throne.
Mathior has a different idea. He's loved Halla for 16 long years, and it's time he claimed her as his wife. But a barbarian's wedding customs are unlike any other...

Ruby D. and Mason Lloyd are a good combo !!
I love that the author chose Mason as the male narrator. I am a big fan of Mason, especially the barbarian series. But I personally am not a fan of the female narrator. She has also narrated with some of my top romance male narrators and think bummer. Ive tried to like her but her voice is not strong or has any passion or intimacy to me. Her male voice is awful...she needs to work on that. The story itself was a little different and non traditional and I didn't have a problem with that. I just would have enjoyed this book more with another female narrator. I really like Ruby and Mason but think the sensuality that was supposed to be a big part of this story could have been a whole lot better if Mason narrated the entire story. I didnt get one tingle during her parts. But thats just me. But I still gave it 4 stars because of the author and Mason. She totally ruined the wedding night for me 😔😔😔 Mason should have narrated that part.

Fire the female voice
The story was a little predictable but could have recovered if not read like a twelve year old the entire time. The whiny voice made me quit listening. I love Ruby Dixon novels and this one fell short and was made worse by the female narrator making an adult male sound like a child the entire time.

Amazing Story
I love this book...I wish it was a little longer but it was so amazing. I do not quite understand why others complain about the female narrator. I think the narration from both was amazing. I was wrapped in the story from beginning to end. After reading the other reviews I was afraid of what the narration with sound like. But I am happy that I listened to this book it was nearly impossible for me to stop listening. Bravo to both of the narration and the author.
