Publisher's Summary

Three of the brightest stars of historical romance invite you to a party at the country home of the Honorable Marquess of Finchley.

Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife, so his sister hands him a list of delectable damsels and promises to invite them and a few other gentlemen to her country house for what is sure to be the event of the season.

Hugh will have time to woo whichever lady he most desires . . .Unless someone else snatches her first.

The invitation list includes:

  • The horse-mad but irresistibly handsome Earl of Briarly
  • The always outspoken Miss Katherine Peyton
  • The dashing war hero Captain Neill Oakes
  • The impossibly beautiful (and painfully shy) Miss Gwendolyn Passmore
  • The terribly eligible new Earl of Charters
  • The widowed Lady Georgina Sorrell (who has no plans to marry, ever)

And your hostess, Lady Carolyn Finchley, an irrepressible matchmaker who plans to find the lady most likely . . .to capture her brother's untamed heart.

Featured Article: The Bridgertons Audiobooks in Chronological Order

In a fictional Regency-era London, the Bridgerton and the Featherington families depend on the marriages of their many children. Bridgertons has won over the hearts of millions, and Julia Quinn has likened the series to "a Cinderella story." Shonda Rhimes adapted the series of romance novels into the hugely popular Bridgerton Netflix series. Although a different character inspires each volume of the series, it’s best to enjoy the saga chronologically.

Love it!!

The book is wonderful on it's own, and Rosalyn Landor just makes it that much better. I love listening to her read. Eloisa James was the reason I bought this book but I searched for my next book by the narrator (Ms Landor). Simply because I love the way she reads. I was fortunate enough to find the next book not only read by Rosalyn but also written by Eloisa James. (A Kiss At Midnight) Jackpot!

good fun

This book was written by 3 of my favorite regency romance authors. It was guranteed fun read and it surely was entertaining. Unfortunetly, that was about it. The setting, characters, situation are all something we have read before and nothing really unique. I would recommend the other books the authors have written, before trying this book.

I Dunno

The best thing about this book was the narrator (Rosalyn Landor). I can't say I really enjoyed it much, it was ok I guess on the other hand, I'm an avid Lisa Kleypas & Julie Garwood listener/reader which means, I always seem to compare their work with other modern day historical romance novelist. Putting it bluntly, no one have yet to measure up. Nice try though.

A fun read.

Julia Quinn is one of my favorite authors. I love her sense of humor! I like to be entertained when I read (listen to) a book, and I was entertained! I grinned through most of this book, and I'm sure I laughed out loud a time or two. The authors' style thoughout flows so well, I am looking forward to reading James' and Brockway's books. (I've read and re-read all Julia Quinn's books!)

Ok considering they're three short stories

This title was just ok for me. It's nice to see that three different authors are able to write three stories and interlock them seamlessly. That said since these are three romance stories covering the span of a weekend then the remanded are not well developed. They seemed forced to me. It went from hello to marry me in a heartbeat. The narrator did a very good job as always but the stories fell short for me.

Nice and light!

this was a quick listen and I bought it because of the narator mostly. I enjoyed it, however this would have been a good anthology, I did not like that 3 authors are writing the same story even if there are different couples involved.

Enjoyable,lighthearted, story

Is there anything you would change about this book?

No

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Ended as expected for a romance

What didn’t you like about Rosalyn Landor’s performance?

I could barely listen all the way through because of this narrator. All of the female characters sounded like they were 40-50 years old instead of young women in their teens/early 20's. The men all sounded like old men sitting around a table at their club, stuffy, no emotional range and old. I do not like this narrator and usually do not buy audiobooks she narrates. I had just listened to the second in the series of these books that was narrated by Susan Duerden(sp.) and just assumed she was the narrator.

I felt all the lighthearted interplay between characters was destroyed, because they all sounded so stuffy and old!

I was very glad that I had gotten this book on sale and had not used a credit for it.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A different narrator
