Publisher's Summary

When the EMP strikes, how far will you go to protect the ones you love?

A month has passed since a devastating EMP ravaged the nation's power supplies.

Jack and his family are surviving on a sustainable farm in the middle of the countryside. Reunited with people he never thought he'd see again, Jack is determined to do all he can not to lose them once more.

Logan and Emma are seeking shelter of their own. When they discover an idyllic farm in a perfect location, Logan is determined to make it their home - at any cost.

But when a tense standoff spirals into tragedy, the two groups are locked into a ruthless conflict that threatens to tear them both apart. Just how far will both Jack and Logan go to protect those closest to them? And at what cost?

Simplistic and predictable

I understand that this is a young adult novel, but the lack of character depth is annoying, the nonstop exposition is irritating, and the characters are about as developed as a half baked cake. There are so many opportunities for true depth that are simply not explored. The narrator’s characterization of male adult voices is unbelievable, and the female voices are often so sickly sweet that they are also irritating.
