An incredibly dark story brought to life via very descriptive writing and amazing narration. As I have stated in my reviews for the previous two entries in this series, this is the closest I want to get to experiencing such a post apocalyptic event. Amazing writing combined with perfect narration makes this series one of the best I have ever read/listened to. I highly recommend this series even though the subject matter is very bleak and depressing. No happy endings, just incredibly good story telling.

If you're looking for a light-hearted listen, run like hell from The Last Plague series. It is scary, gory and kind of hopeless. And, it is very, very well-written and well-narrated (best at 1.1 speed) with characters in whom I became emotionally invested. If you are prone to bouts of depression, I cannot recommend this dark, dark series. But, if you are brave enough to plunge into a terrifying adventure where there is little reprieve from the incessant horror, I highly recommend all three books.
