I wasn't sure what to expect with this story, but the idea intrigued me, so I jumped right into it. Jacqueline's well-written story had so much seamless detail of character and culture - which lent well to each other - and was driven by a plot I easily found myself caught up in. It had me both learning new things while relating deeply to others - especially as someone whose grandparents emmigrated from Europe. Listening to Aliona skillfully narrate this story, I could hear the authenticity cleanly come through. Yes, clearly, because she has the cultural heritage and voice to back it up, but especially since I readily felt it in the nuanced textures of her performance. 100% recommend listening to it: I chuckled aloud, welled with emotion, and reconnected to pieces of my own experience.
