Publisher's Summary

My name is Vinna, and I've been keeping a lot of secrets.

You would too if you'd experienced some of the weird shit I have: red-eyed monsters chasing me, markings on my body appearing out of nowhere, a strange power that crackles colorfully over my skin from time to time, and don't get me started on the weapons I can conjure up almost out of nowhere.

Lucky for me, I have yet to meet someone whose ass I couldn't kick, inside the ring or out. I put that to the test when I run headfirst into a fight that brings all my secrets, and reality as I know it, crashing down around me. Now, I'm looking for answers and trying to piece together what the hell is going on. Paranormal is my new way of life. It's not going to be easy, and I'm not exactly welcome.

That is, until I meet the boys, and trust me, they are anything but boyish.

I'm up against elders who think I'm too powerful, a family who views me as a threat, and something lurking in the shadows that's been coming for me my whole life.

There's not a chance in hell I'm going down without a fight. I'm not lost anymore, and I'm about to show this world exactly what I can do.

Contains mature themes.

Poor Description!!!

This is labeled as Fantasy. There should be an explicit inclusion of being a reverse harem novel in the description. If it was described properly I never would have purchased this book and the author could have spared herself this poor review.

Narration.... OVERLY dramatic ALL of the time

The story was okay. Much like many reverse harems out there. Not with as much connection to the mc and her "guys" though. It really didn't start to feel like the story was developing until 3/4 of the way through. Though, that could have just been the narrator. She continued to have this overly saccharin lilt to her voice, no matter the character. Every character sounded exactly the same. It was off putting, to say the least. Other narrators (like Saskia Maarleveld) are able to distinguish the characters with the slightest inflection or change in register. This narrator needs more work, I think. I won't be purchasing book 2.

I. Love. This. Book. My brain is so happy!

My brain has some quirks. Mainly that it struggles with being able to listen to certain tones, cadences, etc. It also finds safety and peace in repetition. Itis so hard to find a story I can hear over and over and over again - and that is narrated in a way that doesn't cause my brain to spaz out. I've already listened to this book 3 times, since 6/2. It's 6/5. It's available from my library on audiobook, so I checked it out there first. I was hooked on the story by "page 2" and knew I had to buy it by "page 2.5".
It's a fun, coming into your own, finding your place, and fighting for it story. I like that things heat up - but it's hot vs immediately raunchy. That wouldn't have fit the story just now. I like that people aren't perfect and make mistakes. I like that forgiveness, though forthcoming, isn't immediate. I like the tension and build-ups.
I've already pre-ordered book 2.
Thank you so much for great read and choosing a fantastic narrator.

horrible narrator

I am obsessed with this series and after rereading it twice I wanted to listen to it to bring it to life. the narrator is so horrible that I couldn't even finish the second chapter. she reads super slow, puts pauses in where they don't belong, and actually retracts from the story. it was better listening from the automated computer voice on my phone. don't waste your money!

Magic and mystery

4.5 Stars

Overall Rating ★★★★
Plot ★★★★★
Humor ★★★★
Characters & Character Development ★★★★
Narration ★★★★★

Characters: Vinna, Ryker, Knox, Valen, Bastien, Sabin
Aydin, Lachlan, Evrin, Keegan, Silva

Story: This was a great beginning of what I feel like could be one of my favorite Reverse Harem series. I enjoyed the main character Vinna. She's strong and has a backbone and doesn't take any crap from anyone. She also has a vulnerable side which I felt for when it came out. I loved how her guys were so supportive of her even when she tried to push them away. I hated that her uncle and the rest of his group continued to hurt her throughout the story. I really can't wait to see where this story goes. This was an amazing book.

Narration: Mia Madison - I absolutely loved her narration. I think she will be a new favorite narrator of mine.

Not for me

The narrator has a pleasant voice, but either the writing or the acting (or probably both) are not engaging. My mind wanders and I realize that I missed the last minute and have to rewind. A good book should be gripping. For me, this isn’t that type of book.

I didn’t finish the story, and I suspect that I am simply am not the target audience.

Best of luck to both the author and the narrator. I hope that this story resonates with others.

Soooo Amazing!!!

I can’t wait for book #2 !!! This story pulls you in and the world building is very well done. The characters are interesting along with the entire story. The only complaint I have is that it’s only from one point of view and the narrator is ok. It would be a solid 5 stars had the story been from the males point of view also and a double narration.
