Publisher's Summary

Can a long shot bring love to a couple of lonely hearts?

Joni Fisher is facing economic ruin. The once successful advice column she runs with her mother is on the brink of cancellation, and it’ll take a miracle to turn things around. Joni’s last-ditch effort to save her job and preserve her mother’s legacy is The Love Project, a web series she’s developing to bring the Help Me Henrietta franchise alive for a new generation. All she needs is a willing victim...er, star.

Hope Alvarez dreams of falling in love, but she’s always suspected she’s different. Physical attraction is a foreign language to her. After her only prospect for a meaningful relationship falls through, Hope has to face the fact that she’s completely hopeless when it comes to love. Can her favorite advice columnist, Henrietta, save her from a lonely future?

As the series gets underway, fans swoon for the lovable yet unlucky Hope, and they’re not the only ones. Joni is smitten, too. But she’s been down that road before, vowing never again to fall for a straight woman who will keep her forever in the friend zone. Except, what if she’s been reading the situation all wrong? Helping Hope make sense of her identity might save Joni’s job, but will it also bring her love?

Best-selling lesbian fiction authors T.B. Markinson and Miranda MacLeod have written a touching slow-burn romance about love striking when least expected.

Slow Starter

Strong finish. Narrator was awesome as always. the characters were well written. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments. Like the Yankees and the silicone. bottom line it was nice and light.

Bummer

Lori Prince was the only thing I liked about this story.

Joni is kind of an asshole. I couldn’t stand her.

Hope has potential, and she didn’t come across very well like she was confused about her sexuality as much as she was confused about social interactions of any kind.

I was disappointed.

Not best for different sexual orientations

Mysogynistic. While I applaud the truly bold move to address varied sexual orientations, I felt the delivery left much pain in the wake of conflict. Why does a female lead have to address women with such sexual in your face statements - even after being told the other woman was addressing her unchartered sexual orientation? Why does a lead woman have to act like a man to boast her sexual prowess and "conquests"? I tried to complete the book. I really did. I just couldn't continue to listen to the constant badgering and demeaning of the woman trying to understand how to navigate her hits to self esteem. I wanted to see how the woman in such distress came out in the end. Maybe someone can tell me how it ends. Good idea - so poorly detrimental to the subject.

Different in a good way!

I really liked this book. Lori Prince is the perfect narrator for this, too. I am fast becoming a fan of the TB Markinson/Miranda MacLeod duo. I really didn’t want this one to end and am hopeful for a sequel...? Definitely worth the credit!!

Definitely a slow burn!

Writing was well done, humorous. There were some negative comments about misogynistic themes, however, I take issue with that! The two MC's had very different ways of expressing romantic attraction and love toward others. The authors wrote this into the story very clearly! Well done!

"A" Is safe place

I different approach to finding love. Would love to know more about Claudia. A great voice characteristic of each one character and was swept in. A great listen and a great story.

Could Have Been

really good. I loved Hope, Clare was smart and likable. Unfortunately Hope's cousin Alecia was a one note character worthy of a bad sitcom, the whole cheap, sex-crazed thirty-something woman was straight out of network television. Which brings us to Joni. What a nasty piece of work; totally self-involved, self centered and more than a little mean, Hope deserves better.

Relatable and lovely

This was an enjoyable romantic story, and as a demisexual myself, I found the depiction of this lesser-known identity very believable and relatable. I also absolutely loved the relationship between Joni's parents. The narration was excellent, as always is the case with Lori Prince.

Great combination of authors and narrator!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great story and it kept me engaged the whole time. Characters were very likeable and the narrator was great at voicing them. Lots of LOL moments and totally empathy for Hope. I love how it all came together. just cute and feel good! Loved it. I love Lori narrating too! She just gets better and better!
