This classic bedtime story for kids was written by Charles Dickens in 1867, although Mr. Dickens credits the tale to a Miss Alice Rainbird (aged seven), as it gives a very heartwarming glimpse into a Victorian world which can only be seen through the eyes of an innocent child.
