Publisher's Summary
If Gunnery Sergeant Zane Hall wants to save his family's ranch, he'll need to fix up the buildings, stock the spread with cattle - and find a wife. The first two are easy with the help of his brothers, but getting hitched is proving more difficult. When he meets mountaineer Kenna North through an online ad, she seems like the perfect fit - at least in her emails. She wants the same thing he does: a temporary marriage to secure an inheritance. But when Zane meets Kenna, she's nothing like he expects, and Zane finds himself changing his priorities fast.
If Storm Willow wants to save her family's seaside cottage, she’ll have to keep her boss happy - which means taking Kenna’s place and marrying Zane when Kenna is detained out of the country. As long as Storm acts her part, no one will know that she's an imposter. But when she falls for the handsome marine, Storm begins to wonder if holding on to the cottage is worth giving up on love. Can a fake marriage lead to real happiness? Or is disaster just a heartbeat away?

the book was better
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
no it was not time well spent....the narrator was so bad i would start thinking of other things
What didn’t you like about Nika Solviero’s performance?
she made some of the characters sound like they were mentally slow. you could hear her taking a breath after a long sentence.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
yes
Any additional comments?

the constant swallowing is terrible!
Would you listen to The Marine's E-Mail Order Bride again? Why?
I can't even listen through the first hour...the narrator keeps swallowing so loud it is irritating. May be petty but I'm wearing headphones and it is right in my ear. I can't concentrate or listen to the story completely because of it.
How could the performance have been better?
turn of the recorder when you are swallowing so loudly!

Disappointed in Cora
Ok... I thought writers ACTUALLY kept track of previous books' storyboards & characters. 1) Ella was the Vegetarian, NOT Reagan, & 2) Reagan's name was pronounced in the first 2 books as "Ray-gan". In this book, it was pronounced as "Reee-gain".
Plus, the plot that a NON-mountain climber could seamlessly pass for a famous muscular mountaineer is completed idiotic since all you would have to do is enter "Kena North" in an internet search & figure out the imposter. I guess the insulting assumption is that country bumpkins wouldn't have internet access, but HELLLLLOOOOO! Why would the main characters place an ONLINE ad?
The 1st book (Navy Seal) was amazing! Witty banter & credible situations. These other 2 books make the other brothers (who were supposed to be high officers in the other Armed Forces who didn't have enough common sense to Google their soon-to-be fiancees) look like absolute idiots.
At least this book didn't lack in steamy scenes, but the narrator's voice was annoying. I've already purchased Cora's entire book series after Book 1 & now starting to regret my purchase. Shame on you, Cora! I thought you were a better writer than THIS!

All the swoony and sexy marriage of convenience with an imposter fun
I loved loved Zane and Storm’s email order bride marriage of convenience pretending to be someone else crazy inheritance rules romance. It pack an emotional punch and is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the big feelings. Zane, a special forces marine is about to get out of the military and needs a wife in order to reclaim his family’s ranch. Kenna is a mountain climber who also needs to marry for her inheritance. So Zane and Kenna strike a deal online. Storm, Kenna’s assistant, who has been helping her mother and sisters financially for years, gets roped into pretending to be Kenna while she’s off on another climbing expedition. To get to their HEA, Zane and Storm’ have to deal with a lot of the fake marriage becoming real plus the whole pretending to be someone else and the story keeps you hooked in to the very end. Along the way, the story will give you all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering. This beautifully written story includes sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, and all the heart squeezing love. I am excited to read the story of the last of the brothers as he finds his wife.
Nika Solviero did a great job narrating the story and breathing life into the main characters with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. Her secondary character voices were not my favorite but it was a small issue in comparison to the rest of her narration.

Disappointing
This book isn't half as good as the first two books. The story is quite lacking, the author appears to have bypassed a better storyline in favour of padding out with numerous sex scenes (became kinda boring in the end).
Narrator is good at female vocals but the male characters sounded pretty dim 😥

Really enjoyed the story, however men’s voices are atrocious.
I have really enjoyed Cora’s diverse stories and look forward to all the new ones, however, I can’t get over the men’s voices in this series. Too slow, robotic and unreal.

Disappointing
The narrator does a terrible job. If I hadn’t enjoyed the other books, I’d have never made it through this audible version. I was left wishing I’d stayed with reading instead of listening.

Sweet book, horrible narrator
I really like the stories about chance creek, and I want to continue hearing/ reading everyone’s story. But, the narrator of this one is insanely awful. Men and women sound the same. The main characters mother sounds like she’s got a mouthful of cotton. It’s really strange that there are different narrators to every book.

Hmmm...how to review
Have to say this about the narration first - for the most part it was fine? BUT every so often the narrator swallowed or made of other noises between words that was really bothersome, so not my favorite.
The story itself was ok but I personally had an issue with the premise - assistant pretends to be the bride?? Yeah, that is just straight up illegal. Bad enough its a marriage on paper only - which is fine, but complete fraud in a non-dark/otherwise questionable premise is just not my cup of tea.
That being said if you take out the premise the characters are fun and interesting installment in the series.

Meh
This book was too goody goody goody for me. Once the secret was revealed, then it turned all Disney. All steak no sizzle.
