"Daddy has been lying."

Faye Townsend has planned the perfect summer trip for her family. But returning to the small seaside town her husband grew up in does not go to plan - the rain pours, and the long days become stifling. And then the unthinkable happens....

Her husband, Jake, and her six-year-old son, Dylan, go for an early morning walk along the beautiful, windswept clifftops. They don’t come back.

As the hours tick by, Dylan’s red baseball cap is found on the beach, and Faye finds herself being questioned by the police. They want to know everything about the man she married - is Faye ready to face her husband’s dark past? Or will she have to confront her own secrets first?

And just how far will a mother go to save her only child?

Too short but oh....

I wasn't sure where the plot was headed a few times as I was listening and before I knew it the plot peaked and it was over. Boom. Surprise ending. Not enough time to get excited or come up with a few possible theories which I like to do when I'm reading a book like this. I was entertained but for all the wrong reasons.

Just ok

This was an ok story with an ok ending. It’s not really anything that hasn’t already been done... kinda predictable but with a little twist.

Hate these kinds of books

I really feel insulted when a writer has their character simply lie to the listener throughout the entire book. Oh wow, what a twist......oh right well we were lying the entire time. 😂 ugggg. The story itself was so slow and there were times that it lagged tremendously but the narrator did a good job of keeping momentum, then to find out it was all BS anyway. Give me a break

TWIST after twist after twist!

This was a great book! It had me on edge. I couldn't stop listening to it. I just had to know what was happening next. I definitely did not expect that ending. The narrator did a great job as well. So I'm giving this book 5 stars. This is the first book I've listened to by this author and I don't think it'll be the last.

Not my favorite

This one was not my favorite from this author. The twists were good but they felt very rushed. One minute two people were talking and then BAM- twist. Still worth a listen I guess, mainly because Katie Villa was awesome as always.
