Publisher's Summary

When Sergeant Major Morris brings a mummified monkey’s paw to the White family, they embrace it as a morbid curiosity. When they learn that an old Fakir has enchanted the paw, they continue to treat the thing lightly. But the workings of the paw, once set in motion, cannot be undone, no matter what they try.

Quick Spook

I love little horror stories and this one takes the cake. Great story, great narrator, and short.

A story to tell around the campfire

a short story that reminds me of sitting around the campfire with a bunch of Boy Scouts and telling scary stories. this story is not too scary but scary enough to get the imagination going for a young teenage boy.

Be careful what you wish for

Be very specific with your wishes because it will turn out bad.
Great narration, once again, from B.J. Harrison.
Didn’t expect the end. More about the suspense and not seeing than the gore.

Good inflection while reading

Good inflections while reading. It doesn’t just read right through. The narrator pauses and uses different voices for characters.

A spooky classic

An excellent chiller against careless wishing. I was engaged from start to finish, despite knowing how it ends.

My favourite short story

The Monkey’s Paw is my favourite short story. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to it. It is interesting, unexpected, and intriguing. BJ Harrison’s performance makes it all the better with his excellent acting and quick voice alterations. You can easily distinguish between the characters and I highly recommend his podcast, Classic Tales Podcast. The Monkey’s Paw is full of surprises and is a great story for any time. You like the characters from the moment you meet them, which is a hard thing to do, especially in a short story. You should definitely give it a read, I guarantee you’ll love it.
