When facing contentious issues such as screen time, food choices, and bedtime, children often act out or shut down, responding with reactivity instead of receptivity. This is what New York Times best-selling authors Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson call a No Brain response. But our kids can be taught to approach life with openness and curiosity. When kids work from a Yes Brain, they’re more willing to take chances and explore. They’re more curious and imaginative. They’re better at relationships and handling adversity.

Fantastic Book and Audiobook! Highly recommend!
This is a fantastic book with great insights into how to incorporate Montessori teachings/principles into your own life for your toddler. It also really sold me on the idea of Montessori and the benefits our toddler/child and in turn we, the parents, can reap from this philosophy. A more thoughtful, conscious, and independent child is more likely to make better decisions, work to solve their own problems, help put and be more considerate of themselves, the world and their role within it.
Great narrator performance! Better than other books I’ve listened to. I listened at 1.2x speed because it was just a touch slow for me.
I highly recommend this audiobook!

Interesting book, best as guide not as audiobook
The content in the book is really valuable. the way it is presented might follow directly what is written in the book. As there are a lot of lists and headings, much is lost listening to several lists.

A good book with a lot of ideas
Overall I liked it. The author has a lot of good ideas for communicating/teaching kids. I don’t agree with using a Montessori approach for older kids (I went to a Montessori school and had a lot of catch-up to do when I switched to a regular school) but it seems like a very good idea for toddlers.

I really enjoyed listening to this book it gave great examples and tips on how to raise an independent child. They also provide a PDF file. I do consider buying the physical book because of the pictures and graphs they don’t show but it’s efficient to listen to it on audible so you have read/heard the content at least once saves time and you can always go back for reference.

Wonderful book
Loved every page!
To raise a more independent, loved and curious toddler.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling in some aspects and is looking forward to strengthening the bond between parents and their child and understand how children act in order to handle situations. It does not matters if your child is going to a traditional school ( because I get it, Montessori schools could be expensive) because you can put into practice all this ideas in your daily life.
