Just purchase the book
I purchased the audio version to enjoy on my travels because I enjoyed the paperback so very much... unfortunately, when they list this version as "abridged", they are misleading you... This book has not been "abridged", it has been absolutely hacked. my first clue should have been the fact that this audiocopy lasts little more than two hours in listening time. The book itself is such a wonderful experience to read, which has made listening to this butchered audiocopy a travesty.
in all seriousness... Buy the book. You won't be sorry

Brutally Abridged
What on earth is the point of an abridged book anyway? A book is written as the author has intended for the story. Please don’t presume that this hatchet job is an improvement on the full unabridged book and consider creating a proper audio version of the book

good book, horrible audio book
it's been abridged beyond recognition. I read this book years ago and it's one of my favorites. I bought the audio book to enjoy the story again but it's been pretty badly butchered here. pretty much everything except the dialogue has been cut and it's incredibly hard to follow what's going on, even for those who have read the story before.

Disgusting
Anne Rice would be rolling over in her grave if she heard what had been done to her book. Utter garbage, a waste of time and a credit.
