“I haven’t changed my diet or exercise habits and yet the scale keeps moving in the wrong direction. What’s going on?!” Time and again, this is the question Dr. Mary Claire Haver’s patients asked. Story
Our ability to prevent and reverse these conditions—and feel incredible today—is under our control and simpler than we think. The key is our metabolic function—the most important and least understood factor in our overall health. As Dr. Casey Means explains in this book, nearly every health problem we face can be explained by how well the cells in our body create and use energy. To live free from frustrating symptoms and life-threatening disease, we need our cells to be optimally powered so that they can create “good energy,” the essential fuel that impacts every aspect of our wellbeing.

Did you know that up to 90% of women experience menstrual abnormalities or pelvic issues in their lifetime? Yet these conditions are overwhelmingly misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or dismissed. The root causes for these issues, such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, PMDD, or pelvic floor dysfunction, don’t receive the stream of funding for research and new treatments that other conditions do, despite affecting up to half the population.

There is no bigger public health story now than the collapse in youth mental health. The numbers are terrifying and dominate our headlines. There has been much debate over how we got here, and what to do next, and bestselling author and social psychologist Jonathan Haidt is at the white-hot center of that discourse. Haidt has spent his career speaking wisdom and truth into the most difficult landscapes—communities polarized by politics and religion, campuses battling culture wars, and now the perfect storm contributing to a public health emergency for Gen Z.

When administered at the right time, estrogen therapy can lead to substantial improvements in a woman's quality of life. Yet for more than a decade, women have been told about many worrisome side effects of hormone replacement therapy, including an increased risk of cancer, blood clots, and heart disease. In The Estrogen Window, Dr. Mache Seibel shows that not taking estrogen at the right time following menopause actually increases the risk of suffering one of those events.

There’s not enough talk around women’s health, and what little there is rarely helps. Women are routinely warned, lectured, or threatened about their health. Or they are ignored, dismissed, or shamed. But they are rarely empowered. And empowerment, more than anything, is what women—and women of color, in particular—need. Grown Woman Talk is for every woman who has felt marginalized or overwhelmed by a healthcare system that has become more impersonal, complex, and difficult to navigate than ever.

So important to hear and easy to understand.
This audio book is far easier and less complicated to understand than the other popular menopause audiobooks I have listened to. The information is abundant, easy to understand and practical. Much of the advice is repeated throughout- which I appreciate, especially in audible form.
The author is easy to listen to and provides so many tools and details, including current references to current research and data. I have already recommended this book to several women though I just received it. I will also recommend this to my OBGYN.
The one star review recommended that one purchases the book- I may well do this, but that is certainly a subjective opinion and depends on your learning/ absorption style. I would start with the audio version.
This is an important book for all peri, menopausal & post menopausal women to read.

Do yourself a favor and buy the book version
The information in this book is excellent. Unfortunately over half the book (the toollkit--which is the part you really want) is set up like a cross-referenced encyclopedia. (If you have this symptom, go look under here.) This is impossible in audiobook format. Do yourself a favor, buy the book version--even the ebook would be better than the audio.
