Great insight into my strong willed baby. it made me realize how much we have to learn to give our child the best chance at being able to use that strong will for God when appropriate. I also love how well he defines spankings and talks about the guidelines and limits and such. highly recommend!

Sometimes with a strong willed child parents can be left feeling alone when parents of compliant children do not understand the struggle. I love how Dobson offers great sound advice both classic and for the current times backed by experience, research, and biblical scripture. Dr Dobson gives great examples and answers many of the criticism around spanking children. He stresses the importance of loving discipline and a balanced and control approach to our discipline to ensure our kids always know that we love them. I like how there are balanced examples for all the age ranges from toddler to teenage and in between. Definitely a keeper to read (listen to) over and over.

I was very touched to read this book and know I was not alone, and there are parents who have walked this path, followed these guidelines and their kids have turned out great. It has been handy to have these tools in my pocket as I continue on this journey for the next 15years. This book was well written, easy to listen to, encouraging, and practical.

I am a Christian father and this book made me sick. This is not what God has called us to be as parents. We are not supposed to be intimidating parents who make our kids fear us. This was not how Christ showed us to behave.
