Recommend
I recommend this listen for anyone who likes Lisa jackson. I found the first half of the book was difficult to follow as the narration wasn’t great and the emphasis was placed on the wrong words and character voices were similar which made it confusing to listen to. Narration got much better toward the end and was easier to follow.

It was good
I liked it ! It had all the drama of a good southern story. Narrator was good, putting emphasis where it should be. Editing was a bit quick from chapter to chapter but overall really enjoyed it

If your killing time
If I read a book and don’t like it I usually stop reading (listening ) then I don’t bother review it. But this one I did finish it. I wanted to see how it would play out so I gave it a 3 and the performance was pretty good. Story wise there are issues here , to many characters that don’t really add anything to the plot. A lack of research regarding anaphylaxis among other things and some truly interesting characters but not written well.
Washing dishes, walking the dog don’t want to pay to much attention it’s 👍 want a good edge of your seat page turner? Not so much.

Pretty good. I liked the surprise ending

What everyone else said
The plot was fairly predictable, the story itself was repetitive, the narration was a bit hard to follow due to character voices being very similar and jumping around a lot within the same chapter. HOWEVER, I did find it to be a captivating listen while at work—the repetition worked in my favour if I happened to be distracted the last time something was said I got to hear it re-stated, and I love a long listen because I don’t have to find a new book midday.

Interesting
Figured 1/3 of the way through the plot. Characters were interesting enough. I have to agree with the overuse of “oh god” but this happens in a lot of books. I liked the storyline and the end did surprise me, although i was already thinking down that path.

Couldn't believe it...
I LOVE Lisa Jackson. I couldn't get through the first part. My mother said the same thing about reading the book but I thought maybe hearing it would work better. Nope, and it really surprised me cause I love her! Oh well....

OMG...REPETITIVE!!!!!
I have been trying to get through this book for days now and am suffering! The first 9 chapters are literally repeats of every other one prior. Not to give it away, but who in life wakes up covered in blood, it’s all over their home/room and they just clean it up and consider they’ve had too much to drink??? WTH?!? My 8 year old could create a better storyline. Not to mention, this author incorporates about 100 characters from out of left field like you’re supposed to know who is who ! The backstory trying to explain them is insufficient to say the least. Do not waste your time!!!

Nightmare

Why would I want to get into a character who was trapped inside their own body at autopsy? Hello nightmares.

Oh, God!
I REALLY loved the plot of this book. Loved the twists and turns, the suspense. Everything EXCEPT the main character. I know after finishing the book that she was portrayed as being so weak for a reason, but omg did she make me want to slap her. Between that and the overdone use of her phrase “Oh God”, I had to knock a star of this book. I’d be all into it and then she’d “Oh God” and all I’d feel is rage. 😆

thrilling
Withing the last year i started listening to lisa jackson's work and omg. This book kept me on my toes the whole time and the end was a complete twist. this is a must read/listen. definitely amazing
