Publisher's Summary

Cutler Ryder was everything I wasn’t.

He was the hockey star. I was an outcast. He was best friends with my stepbrother, that same stepbrother who hated me. His two parents loved him. My mom was a junkie. My dad barely knew me.

Years passed. I got my life together. Cut went onto NHL stardom. Then there was a text.

I was drinking. There was a party. Cut was there....

I loved Cutler Ryder since the first moment I saw him.

The only problem? He never knew I existed.

Absolutely one of the best books I've read

When I first started listening to this book I found it difficult and not just because of the jumbled thoughts coming from the lead character. And Arnt does a fabulous job of verbalizing the things which run through her mind. Living and caring for someone who is mentalling ill myself I understand better than some the stigmatisms and difficulties people diagnosed with mental illness suffer, how hard it is to get help and support and how life changing it can be when the right people become part of their life. This book is a story that gives hope to those who suffer with a great story to help show them the way. One person can be the life line a struggling person needs to take the first step to gain control over their life. Finding that one person in a sea of people who would rather ignore or destroy you is the hardest

Gut-wrenching romance

I loved this book. love story but with the scary realities that many people face and struggle with on the daily. To be honest, there were a number of parts that mirrored my thought processes. An amazingly well thought out story.

Teary-eyed.

I don’t think I’ve ever written much of a book review and I am not sure how far I will go with this. I hate when people ruin the experience by giving away too much in the review. Therefore, I will simply say that I loved it. Anyone that ever picked up a Tijan book know that between the pages there’s a lot to unpack. It took me a bit longer to finish this book because my emotions were on major overload. I am not sure if it was the narration but I cried and I laughed out load a few times. In my humble opinion, get the book you will not be disappointed. The characters are amazing, the narration is superb and the story/plot/resolution ibeautiful. It was a credit well spent. I believe you will feel something and maybe even learn something.. I did!

couldn't finish

listen if you are in your early 20's this will amazing, if you are over 30 you'll hate it. I was 40 minutes in and between her constant rambling of her thoughts and her saying "lite o Meter" I almost ran into a wall head first.

Will the “REAL TIJAN

please “STAND UP?”

Characterization was awful! Way too many characters and no depth to any!

Only Andi is the reason I kept listening. Jason Clarke was the WRONG pick for THIS audio.

Tijan’s reasoning for not telling us what Cheyenne suffers from, panic attacks, borderline personality, bipolar disorder, histrionic disorder, Peter Pan Syndrome or a schizo-affective disorder made her unbearable!! I spent the entire audio trying to figure out what she suffered from so that I could empathize with her.

In the acknowledgments, Tijan writes that she didn’t want to label Cheyenne, that Cheyenne was just, Cheyenne. That’s pure BS! Not knowing what was going on in her head and what medication she was taking her took away from how awesome the story could have been.

Sorry Tijan, this was not a hit; it was mess!

P.S. Could you please branch out narrator wise? I will never listen to Jillian Macie or Terese Plummer EVER again so I returned them. Andi’s my number one, Maxine Mitchell, Emily Woo Zeller, Angela Dawe, Sonja Field, Jessica Almasy, Jill Redfield and Amanda Ronconi! Top chicks & they don’t need male counterparts, they all can do many different voices, accents and male characters as well!

Five Fuoway Stars. I Floved it

You’ll understand the book title, and my star rating title when you listen to this wonderful story.
Wow! I am so in awe of Tijan. This audio completely blew me away. A wonderfully addictive college romance (and beyond). Dealing with some real issues in such a sensitive and realistic and funny way. I loved Cheyenne, she was so real, she was perfectly flawed, and her thoughts kept a smile on my face (mostly). Cutler Ryder, well what can I say? He was the bomb. He was caring, he was true, and he was my perfect book boyfriend. He was the perfect partner for Cheyenne. He got her. He calmed her. He understood her, well, as much as she understood herself. I wanted to go right back to the beginning and start this book again.I knows it will stay with me for a long, long time to come. It’s a bold statement, but it’s possibly Tijan’s best book yet. I loved it that much. Narrated by Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke who, I must say, were more than perfect for the roles of Cut and Cheyenne. All the emotions, and all the feels. One of my favourite audios, ever!

What an outstanding book!

I love the characters in this book. You could feel their personalities. Cheyenne was such a strong character, you have to love her. Cut was so swoon worthy! Fantastic writing. Yes, its a romance, but this book is so much more!

New to me author

Wow! This book had an impact on me. I went in totally blind. New to me author. Literally had no idea what I was getting into... all I did was listen to one of my favorite book pushers and she was ON POINT! I had so many feelings on this book that it really isn't even something I can talk too much about. I am usually not one for trigger warnings but I feel like this one could use one regarding the anxiety that Cheyenne deals with. She has some panic attacks during this book. I only say that because the author writes them so well that I actually started to feel a bit of an anxiety attack too... and then I felt so drained after! So REALLY great writing! And Cut was just everything.... super swoony to the max! I could have read so much more about these 2.

The narration was excellent! Same comments about the anxiety attacks.... Andi did such a fantastic job of describing them and bringing them to life that I was totally feeling it! And Jason is ... well 🔥 so basically perfect for Cutler!

I am so in love with this author and her writing that I have gotten a bunch of other books and I plan on getting into them as soon as I can. I am a fan!

Such a great story

The story makes you have the main character in your heart, through her struggles and her courage it makes you root for her from the start. I really enjoyed this story, it was worth the credit

Amazing!

The is a beautifully written book. The characters are out of this world and you connect with Cheyenne instantly. Cut is perfect in every way! Just like every Tijan book, you get sucked in!

Desperately wanted ROMANCE between Chey and Cut

This is not a romance book. Great book, great narration, but it’s heavy. This book would have been hands down one of the best books IF there was 3 or 4 spice scenes. The books plot was heavy and the romantic relationship took back burner. Cheyenne and Cut had chemistry but it was never talked about and all fade-to-black scenes. I don’t need smut in a book BUT c’mon give us something to at least qualify as a romance book. That all begin said, it’s a beautiful story of a woman who has experienced extraordinary trauma at the hands of her parents since she was child and how that impacts emotions and mental capabilities. The whole book was pretty much in the mind of someone struggling to be “normal” as they suffer through mental illness. It’s emotional, not heart wrenching or tear jerking, but great empathy.

Beautiful characters!

Such a beautiful story of how one person lives such a full life with mental struggles. Tijan masterfully modeled this character into such a loving person who wasn’t allowed to live in a healthy environment. Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke were perfect as always!
