Publisher's Summary

On the brink of a disaster that could end all human life on Earth, tech genius Robert Eisenbraun joins a team of scientists in Antarctica on a mission to Jupiter's moon Europa to mine a rare ore that can provide for Earth's long-term energy needs. But as he and the rest of the team train under the ice shelf in preparation for the long journey, trouble erupts. Before they embark, Eisenbraun finds himself the odd man out, and is put into cold sleep against his will.

When he wakes, Eisenbraun finds the ship deserted and no longer functional. He escapes to the surface of an Earth terribly changed. The plan has gone horribly wrong, but as he adapts to a hostile environment, he realizes that there is still a way to accomplish what the mission had set out to achieve. But he also discovers that he faces a new adversary of the most unlikely sort. Now his own survival, and that of the woman whose love has sustained him in his darkest hours, depends on the defeat of a technological colossus partly of his own making.

Confronting a foe that knows him almost as well as he knows himself, Eisenbraun faces the prospect of depending on resources he has reason to believe will be available on one particular night of a full moon - a night foretold by a mysterious, unseen ally to be a pivotal moment for the fate of the planet. The game has changed, and Earth's future depends on him and him alone.

The Omega Project is yet another edge-of-your-seat thriller by best-selling author Steve Alten and is sure to leave listeners looking for more.

Weird book

I honestly have mixed feelings about this book, there was bits I found interesting, mostly at the beginning, but then it turned quite bizarre. It’s not a book I would listen to again but I’m sure there are people who would quite enjoy it.

Great start, stop reading after part 1.

This book started well, I was enjoying the premise and technology of the story right up until the whole dream sequence started. I listened hoping it would end, but it went on and on, it was exhausting, it was over 1/2 the book! Knowing a character is reciting his dreams when what you want is to understand what is happening in real life is just not interesting. I understand that the dream is supposed to be a learning experience for the character and the reader, but is should be much shorter

Disappointing

This sounded like a good story but the overly used, near adolescent sexual innuendo got in the way.

Turns into Skull Island a couple of hours in.

Started off with a lot of promise, then becomes a story about giant monsters. You need the most basic scientifically literateracy to realize a lot of the plot doesn't make sense, even in a sci-fi world.

bewildering and fanciful

I couldn't finish this book. The characters are one dimensional and the plot develops at an agonizing pace.

I gave it hours and it's so obnoxious, immature, and irritating, self absorbed. every character is so cringe just....ugh don't

Love everything except his description of women

It’s creepy and juvenile, and took away from the story. Who is staving but has time to think about anything in that way? Unauthentic and as a woman makes me want to avoid men if an apocalypse ever happens.
