Publisher's Summary

An original novella set in season three of The Orville—straight from the pen of Seth MacFarlane, creator of the beloved sci-fi TV show! When Captain Ed Mercer and the crew of the U.S.S. Orville come face-to-face with one of humanity's most vile ideologies, they must solve the moral conundrum of who to hold accountable for evil deeds real… and imagined. Occurring just after episode 308, this is the Orville like you've never seen it before.

"Lost" episode of The Orville doesn't disappoint!

This was supposed to be Episode 8 or 9 of season 3 of The Orville but could not be made because of COVID travel restrictions. I am so glad that they decided to release it as novelization and audiobook,

If you have not watched every episode of the series, do not fear. You will not have have a problem with this story. The only issue is that there is no character exposition and back-story for series regulars, but that in no-way detracts from the story.

I don't know if it would have been so completely stand-alone if it had been produced as an episode, but this could fit at almost any time during or after the series.

Didn't feel like an orville story

I have to say I loved the story from a WW2 fan boy standpoint. But the story didn't seem to fit into the universe of The Orville. I can see why it was used as a novella rather than an episode. I did enjoy seeing the inner workings of Aeth MacFarlanes mind.
