scandalous
if you're looking for a historically accurate version of the events, this is probably not it. I found the tabloid-ness of this one to be a really stark comparison to the Constant Princess, which I greatly preferred.

Okay
Not my favorite by Philippa Gregory. I love the story line of the Tudor's and I love this story, but I felt it could have been done with out so much sexual content.

Extraordinary and vivid!
I think this may be the best Gregory novel...or maybe Kirby's narration is what made this so captivating. The imagery, the voice, the historical detail, the steamy scenes... I'm kind of sad that I've reached the end if this book.

Spectacular Narration!
I have been entranced by this story and truly believe that Vanessa Kirby's narration is one of the best I've ever heard in ANY audiobook. (Next to my #1 favorite Simon Prebble!) I tried to find others by her but there are only two....!. Then I discovered that she is also the brilliant actress who plays Princess Margaret on The Crown! Well I am a huge fan, and hope to see...and hear...much more of her! of course Philippa Gregory provides rich material to work with!

One of her best works!
I will admit to having very low expectations of this book due to my experience with the movie version. Wow did Hollywood do the book a disservice! This not only far surpassed my expectations it is probably the best book in the series (so far!). Anne & Mary Boleyn are fully represented as complex women (and sisters!) trapped in the dangerous gamble of Tudor politics where the stakes are high and losing can mean death. Even if you know the historical facts you will sit in suspense as this story unravels. Also, I enjoy the other narrator (Bianca) so much that I was worried I would be distracted by Kirby - once again, I was wrong - her voice conveys the characters emotions so perfectly I have to think she was a carefully curated selection for this particular story. All in all, a really great listen!

Loved this audible book. The story was entertaining, the performance was spot on and I loved the history reference. Never got bored even though it was a long book. I hated to have it end. One of my favorites.

Wonderful! Narrator made this story come alive!
I was hooked from the very beginning - this story was excellent historical fiction! Exciting with constant intrigue and the characters really pull you in. I think Vanessa Kirby's voice made this as wonderful as it was. She has a beautiful husky, but feminine sound and such range for the cast of characters - I could listen to her for days. Will definitely look for more by this author and narrator!

The worst voice
Couldn’t keep listening, the voice made it boring and hard to listen. Buy the other option, maybe the voice is better
