Summary
A century into the war, the Ascenders aren't the only ones who are tired. Fighting three against two the Empire, even with all of its advantages, can only fight to a slow and bloody retreat as more of its border worlds are occupied.
As Ascenders Matt, Liz, and Aster are working overtime to stem the tide, but even with their Ascender peers' Light and Shadow, they are barely keeping up.
As their enemies finally make their own decisive move, that may no longer be the case.
Don't miss Book 11 of this action-packed fantasy adventure that blends everything you love about LitRPG with Xianxia.
About the series: This is a mix between LitRPG and Xianxia. It's like a car that looks like a LitRPG with dungeons and skills, but the interior and engine are all Xianxia. It features a magic system and progression system that are logically and internally consistent, as well as realistic fight scenes and a rational MC.

Sean wasn't expecting to die today. He definitely wasn't expecting to be dragged off to another world or raised as a skeleton infused with Death itself. Yet here he is, tossed down a Necromancer's trash chute, and left to fend for himself against otherworldly monsters. Only as an abandoned minion, Sean no longer has a summoner paying the hourly mana costs he needs to sustain his new form. Which is bad since if he can't pay those himself, he's going to die… again.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

Brynn was the first to ever activate the world’s hidden Prestige Mode, granting powerful perks at the cost of his godhood and all memories of his past life. Now, he’s at rock bottom in a brutal world where leveling is so deadly most people never try, powerful classes evolve through corestones, and loot is awarded through system-granted achievements. Armed with nothing but a magical helmet and an empty Alchemist’s Kit left behind by his former self, the ex-paramedic must grind his way back to divinity, level-by-level. But regaining his power won’t be his greatest challenge…

I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how? King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic.

I do wish that he stretched this out into 2 full length books, but it was definitely an entertaining listen the entire time! I really hope there's more to this story, and that we get maybe an in between book with a smaller time skip maybe half way to the "True War" and then a few books for that event as well!
Overall, this is 1 of my favourite series. I usually start to get bored or hate some of the plot/character changes in a series this long.. but I've loved this series and every book in it, even if a couple seemed like mostly training filler for the next arc, the majority were great and had some of my favourite mini plots.. like tournaments and large universe wide competitive dungeons with ladders, even though both have been done a lot they're often some of my favourite books from other long series as well. I think PoA did it the best though, I can't think of a series that did either better honestly..
I digress tho, pick up this book if you've been following along! It's all we've been waiting and wishing for and more with just a super action-packed culmination of all their training up to this point of their journey!
Everything We've Been Waiting For!
