About this listen

In this romantic-comedy novella, the sexiest player in the NFL and a small-town librarian prove that when opposites attract, their chemistry can be game changing.

Simone Thompson wakes up in a Vegas hotel suite to discover three things:

  • Her headache might kill her.
  • The guy spooned behind her isn't some random Vegas hookup...it's James Sumner, the NFL's bad-boy wide-receiver and her twin brother's teammate.
  • There's a ring on her finger - you know...the finger.

As part of a football family, Simone knows all about the game, the good, the bad and the ugly. That's why she joined her brother's trip to Vegas in the first place - to keep an eye on him, not to end up entangled with her crush. Her very out-of-her-league crush.

James has always had the hots for Simone, and now that they're married, he sees an opening to prove to her he's more than just a playboy and that they really do belong together. But if he's really going to win over his bookish princess, he'll need to execute the perfect play....

Two people wanting to be together for a while, but not having the right chances to do so. waking up together after apparently a wild party with friends, realizing that they went off and go married at some point in the evening.

I thought they would go through a bit more trying to figure out what happened to make it to this point. But the story went the other direction. Attempting to get her to say yes to giving him a chance to make this work, bit of mis communication, but of hesitation, some family drama and then we'll happily ever after. Ended wrapped up in a little bow.

sweet and simple

I thought this was a little too easy for me. The fact that there was no real ramifications in terms of the media and everything wrapped up a little too neatly. I would have preferred a more open "Happy For Now" instead of more of a "Happily Ever After" ending. I thought a lot of the relationship was too superficial.

But it is free on Audible with membership, so I'm not too mad about it!

The story is not the greatest but is an okay short time listen the characters have not been given any the narrators do nothing to bring them to life the narration is just reading unemotionally

Weak

I hated the way the female narrator represents the male voice... in other words, she sounds the exact same making it rather confusing to follow along.

A Librarian and NFL player get married in Vegas and she wakes up and doesn’t remember…. Hmm…

The characters were so flat and boring. The female narrator brought some character to her, but for the male he was so monotoned which then made his character so plain.

Yes, this is a novella and short listen but I still have no idea what was going on throughout it

No idea how to rate this one cause I have no clue what I just listened to.

I found that the premise was interesting but the execution wasn't great. Like it felt like the female main character didn't really want the relationship and I can't say that I really have a sense of the personality of the male main character

Not enough of what I needed
