Publisher's Summary

A New York Times best seller.

Deep in the water, Mr. Fish swims about with his fish face stuck in a permanent pout. Can his pals cheer him up? Will his pout ever end? Is there something he can learn from an unexpected friend? Swim along with the pout-pout fish as he discovers that being glum and spreading “dreary wearies” isn’t really his destiny. Playful rhymes make this a fun fish story that’s sure to turn even the poutiest of frowns upside down. The Pout-Pout Fish is a 2009 Bank Street Best Children's Book of the Year.

Boring narrative...

This is one of our favorite books but the person reading isn't animated enough. We listen to audio books in the car and it doesn't hold their interest.

Great for Bedtime

Several reviews talk about a boring reader, but I think he is great for a calm, bedtime story. I absolutely love that the story is read twice! Just when I was wishing to have it on repeated a “read-along” version started.

The story is cute and sweet and the person reading says each word clearly.

Great book but ruined by very boring narrator.

Amazing book but this guy ruins the whole experience. I have heard about 7 different people read this book to my kids and every one of them had more animation than this guy. I could go on but I will leave it at that. Very disappointing for such a great story.

Not a lot of character difference

The reading is a little rough. Not clear enunciation and the character voices don’t differentiate much.

Great STory! An everday favorite and fun story!

i love this book. i downloaded because sometimes don't have the book on hand and my twins love it.
I do want to add that I wish their were more choices for narrators.
i think that would be a great option.
