One afternoon - after another failed attempt to get motivated to exercise - I (accidentally) started my first mini habit. I initially committed to do one push-up, and it turned into a full workout. I was shocked. This "stupid idea" wasn't supposed to work. I was shocked again when my success with this strategy continued for months (and to this day). I had to consider that maybe I wasn't the problem in those 10 years of mediocre results. Maybe it was my prior strategies that were ineffective, despite being oft-repeated as "the way to change" in countless books.

There are stacks upon stacks of self-help books that will promise you love, happiness, and a fabulous life. But how can you pinpoint the exact behaviors that cause you to be miserable in the first place? Sometimes when we're depressed, or just sad or unhappy, our instincts tell us to do the opposite of what we should - such as focusing on the negative, dwelling on what we can't change, isolating ourselves from friends and loved ones, eating junk food, or overindulging in alcohol. Sound familiar?

Old words, new meanings.
This was obviously written a long time ago and I think the narrator did an ok job. I did notice a few blank patches in the recording with audible clicks, I'm not sure why that was.
This book was recommended by Bob Proctor as "one of the best books he's ever read" and I totally see why. In it's old-timey adage is a lot of the same concepts as newer books like Manifest Now, which is great by the way, but just said a little more directly and without expansion. There are some lines in this book that you could write an entire book on all by itself, BUT you have to really dig deep in yourself to put the pieces together. It's one I'll have to go back to over and over again.

Can't get passed the narrator's voice...
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
A lot of bible references, difficult to keep up with the meanings - a lot of back and forth
If you’ve listened to books by Neville Goddard before, how does this one compare?
I've listened to Neville's other audio, and they have flow, unlike this one - just hard to keep up. Maybe reading it would be more helpful.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Mark Manning?
Not sure.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I love Neville's teachings.
