The time has come to cast off prejudices and to blur the lines of what is possible and permissible at every stage of life. In other words: we need to learn to reimagine our approach to later life.

Bad acting scenarios, it is distracting.
I wish it was just narrated, but not having stories being "acted" with different voices that distract me from listening and are not believable.

Best self development book I've found
I read some of the negative reviews and decided not to take them too seriously as they might be written by people who did not apply the lesson, negative people tend to give bad reviews. Personally I could not get enough, driving and listening there were absolute jaw dropping revelations about myself I'd never thought of. I was completely blown away by how truly being honest with myself and learning more about who I am. Every part of me needed to hear this. In two days of this information I already see much more clearly the war I have been in with myself, and how to make peace within thank you for making this book available on audio, it's the only time I've got to read is when I'm on the move. I loved the music, the exercises and the patients listen and do the writing exercises and this will change your life!

Would you try another book from Nathaniel Branden and/or Nathaniel Branden?
Maybe a book. Not an "audio book" though.
What didn’t you like about Nathaniel Branden’s performance?
Nathaniel Branden's performance was OK. Some things he said were said a bit weirdly, but overall he was ok.But I have to agree with another reviewer of...... no one else should've spoke during this. Everyone's "performance" was awful. Honestly every time I heard someone else speak, I skipped ahead 30 seconds until I heard Nathaniel's voice again.
Any additional comments?
I hate that this has so many moments where you just listen to 80's synth music for up to a minute.
-----
This would be better as a book. I like to listen to audio books only in a car or while working on something.... yet there are numerous times where he says: "Ok now write down this, and finish this sentence five times. And write this down, and this, and this, and this, and this, now this, now journal that," etc etc. Buy the book and forget this version.
-----
I feel like I could've done without having so many "examples" of issues people. It felt like there were too many, and the segments lasted too long... especially with how AWFUL the performance was. And then some seemed kind of...... weird and fake. Such as the man who found himself lusting after his neighbor's wife and was fantasizing about cheating with her on his wife for almost a year, and then realized: "Oh I'm not attracted to her and don't want to have sex with her or anything like that, I'm just unhappy with my job! I never realized I didn't like my career before!" That one felt incredibly fake, or at least stretched.
-----
A lot of these things just seemed... unhelpful. The first 3 chapters seemed to be "pay attention in life and don't act like a victim." Then one chapter was a "hypnotism" where he wanted you to imagine finding your inner child standing next to a tree, then you needed to write out tons of answers of what you were doing at different ages of your life.
---------
As an audio book I'd give this 1.5/5. As an actual self help book........ maybe a 2.5/5. A lot of the help in this seems more like it would only help someone that was very broken. Possibly something you've give to someone in AA or NA struggling to beat addiction.

Too many sentence stems
Where does The Psychology of High Self-Esteem rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I really liked the knowledge in this book. I didn't like the sentence stems - I prefer to listen and learn, rather than to stop and do the practical exercises.
Would you be willing to try another book from Nathaniel Branden? Why or why not?
For sure, Nathaniel really appeared to know what he was talking about. Someone who has practiced a lot and has learnt much that he is willing to share.
What does Nathaniel Branden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I don't think he brings much.
What did you learn from The Psychology of High Self-Esteem that you would use in your daily life?
The interrelationship between behaviour, self beliefs and self esteem. I will be seeing behaviours as indicators of self esteem, and attempting to practice better behaviours.
