À propos de cet audio

When a Republican party wins the General Election, they strip the royal family of everything and send them to live on a housing estate in the Midlands.

Exchanging caviar for boiled eggs, servants for a social worker named Trish, the Queen and her family learn what it means to be poor among the great unwashed. Is their breeding sufficient to allow them to rise above their changed circumstance or deep down are they really just like everyone else?

Long before Queen Elizabeth II died and before Andrew Windsor's latest disgrace was exposed, there were, even then, those who felt the Monarchy should have been abolished. This novel illustrates in a humorous and exasperating way, that what would take its place is really no better. It's an amusing look at how the Royal Family would cope if they had to live like a lot of their subjects have had to do, scraping by "on benefit" and with no hope of things getting any better. It's an enjoyable listen, as is its follow-up, Queen Camilla!
