Publisher's Summary

Surviving in a tough situation is not always the best option; sometimes dying is much better than staying alive. The Academy showed Paladin Yaropolk what makes the world go round: pragmatism and personal gain. Restart was set in motion, but it only makes players more frantic. Now everyone plays only for themselves. Yaropolk faces the same dilemma: be like all of them, or keep his humanity and be known as an odd duck. Because there is only one rule in this world: kill or be killed....

Too invested to stop now I guess...

This book was interesting, annoying, and frustrating, all bundled together. The premise, potential, and story development were just as intriguing as the first volume. But, the frustrating and annoying elements just kept on multiplying as time passed.
The MC felt more like a plot device than an integral part of the story. Instead of him pushing things along, things just kept on happening to him, a lot of negative things. His lack of proper training and initiation takes the bulk of the blame for that. But the problem is that the MC just felt like a giant pawn way too often, and for far too long to fall on such an excuse. True, the twists and turns involving the MC were interesting to watch play out. But in hindsight, it just felt like a gigantic mess.
The position and fate of women in this volume was also very disgusting. Seeing 80% to 90% of the females being relegated into mere tools does not sit well with me - a little too heavy for my yastes.
The narrator was also as disappointing as usual. No surprises there 🙅‍♂️.
I've already listened to the first two volumes, so no point stopping now I guess...🤷‍♂️

another dumpster fire

once again another edition to the useless Main character chronicles. I have never experienced such a pointless MC aside from pointless non sense, to make the lack luster story progress in a way.
