À propos de cet audio
#1 Amazon Best Seller in Multiple Categories:
Deeds not words. To the members of Canada’s Joint Task Force Two, it isn’t just a motto. It’s a way of life. Most Canadians have never heard of them, but when a Canadian veteran and a British intelligence officer vanish in Belize, it’s JTF2 that answers the call.
Sergeant Sebastien “Rocky” Ray, reeling from the disappearance of his friend and commander, must lead Alpha Team for the first time. The objective is clear: rescue the hostages and eliminate their captor. But the enemy is no ordinary zealot. He is part of a larger design, an architect of upheaval intent on reshaping entire societies.
What begins as a hostage rescue spirals into the opening shots of a Quiet War no one realizes has begun. As loyalty collides with duty and a shadowy adversary maneuvers unseen, Rocky must decide whether to cling to the past or embrace the role that could define his future—and the fate of his nation.
Written by Canadian veteran and former intelligence officer, Michael J. Lalonde, The Quiet War: Canadian Front is a gripping novella and debut to a bold new military thriller series with Canada and its allies at its centre.
With its tactical realism, global scope, and emotionally grounded characters, it’s perfect for fans of Tom Clancy, Jack Carr, and military political thrillers rooted in today’s world.
©2025 Vanguard Leaders Incorporated (P)2025 Vanguard Leaders IncorporatedBelow is a review I wrote after reading the book in print. All of it applies equally to the audiobook:
I didn’t expect this to hit me the way it did. First, It’s rare to see a story where Canada takes the lead in a modern military thriller, and it was honestly refreshing. This book digs into parts of the Canadian Armed Forces most of us never hear about, especially JTF2. I had no idea Canada even had a counter-terror unit on the same level as Delta Force or SEAL Team 6, and the way the book explores that world was eye-opening without ever feeling like a lecture. The book is written by a former Canadian military intelligence officer and it shows. The tactical realism is stunning and immersive.
The characters really surprised me too. They aren’t static Rambo type action heroes. They are actually complicated people carrying real emotional weight. Their internal conflicts feel very real to me. I feel like I have a much deeper appreciation for the burden our military people carry on and off the battlefield. What an eye opener experience.
But what really hooked me was the plot. There is an underlying geopolitical conspiracy that keeps growing as the story goes on, hinting at something much bigger coming down the line in future instalments. At the same time we get to experience the beginning of a plot to bring down the west through the protagonists as they struggle against an enemy they don’t even know exists.
It feels like the start of a sprawling series in the best possible way. Once I started reading, I honestly couldn’t put it down.
Loved the story and the performance
