Disappointing MC

I was hoping by this point the MC would have matured and smartened up a bit, he has all the qualities you’d expect to be negative qualities in a main character, ( selfish, greedy, ignorant, unobservant, untrusting and untrustworthy) I’ll listen to the next but if the MC doesn’t get a better head on his shoulders I’ll be hard pressed to continue on with the book
