À propos de cet audio

A goodhearted priest and scholar, a professor with a passion for the darker side of medieval psychology, a defrocked monk, and a rich young businessman who inherits some troublesome paintings are all helplessly beguiled by the same coed. Davies weaves together the destinies of this remarkable cast of characters, creating a wise and witty portrait of love, murder, and scholarship at a modern university.©1981 Robertson Davies (P)1997 Blackstone Audio, Inc. Ce que les critiques en disent

"[Davidson] accomplishes the task of preserving this restless story with a flowing narration. He modulates the voice of Maria, a graduate student, separating her from male companions with expressive accuracy. His slight English accent and dry, earthy elocution soundly stir this fiction to its concluding moment." ( AudioFile)
"A compelling performance." ( Library Journal)

I had read some of his books when in university so thought I would try another. I like the twists in the story and the performance was exactly perfect for the book.

unexpected, but Delightful

I’ve had a soft spot for Robertson Davies since reading Fifth Business in my Can Lit class 20 years ago. The Rebel Angels is full of genius-level wordsmithery in plain language. Oazy Froats will have you howling. The twist at the end… 🤌 Narration was perfect, Davidson really eked the humour out of these characters down to the last drop.

(FYI some of this book wouldn’t pass muster if it were published today.)

A work of divine caustic wit
