It is a pretty generic damsel in distress story. The girl (high society but not like the others) has no character and the boy (super attractive chivalrous knight) has no flaws.
Tom does a bunch of very unique character voices though.

Tom Hiddleston really brought this story to life. His voice acting here is impeccable, and he nails all the accents.
The story line is a bit predictable though.

The Red Necklace is the kind of historical fantasy I love and Tom Hiddleston did a brilliant job bringing Sally Gardiner's world and characters to life.

This was a great story….the narration was amazing and definitely brought all the characters to life…I would highly recommend this book!

This audiobook felt like a lovely surprise. I chose this book mostly because I wanted to hear Tom Hiddleston's narration, and also because I like hearing history brought to life in a good story.

Both were excellent. I had read some other reviews praising the narration, and I wholeheartedly agree: All the characters portrayed were vivid and clear and the story conveyed with competence and exact telling. Thank you, Mr. Hiddleston. I look forward to hearing another narration from you.

I found myself wrapped in the story, enjoying the twist of hearing a viewpoint on the French Revolution and following the gypsy (Romany) characters.
