About this listen
A number one New York Times best seller!
“A rip-roaring adventure merged with satisfying romance.” (Entertainment Weekly)
“[A] swashbuckling launch to the Eldest Curses series.” (Publishers Weekly)
From number one New York Times and USA Today best seller Cassandra Clare and award-winner Wesley Chu comes the first audiobook in a new series full of “swoon-worthy romance [and] abundant action” (Publishers Weekly). The Red Scrolls of Magic is a Shadowhunters novel.
All Magnus Bane wanted was a vacation - a lavish trip across Europe with Alec Lightwood, the Shadowhunter who against all odds is finally his boyfriend. But as soon as the pair settles in Paris, an old friend arrives with news about a demon-worshipping cult called the Crimson Hand that is bent on causing chaos around the world. A cult that was apparently founded by Magnus himself. Years ago. As a joke. Now Magnus and Alec must race across Europe to track down the Crimson Hand before the cult can cause any more damage. Demons are now dogging their every step, and it is becoming harder to tell friend from foe. As their quest for answers becomes increasingly dire, Magnus and Alec will have to trust each other more than ever - even if it means revealing the secrets they’ve both been keeping.

My favourite.
Magnus means the world to me. His story means the world to me and I loved this book. Very well written and the performance by BD Wong was stellar. Definitely a 5 star- More if it were possible!

Malec!
Adored the book. It has the perfect Alec/Magnus/Malec ratio for me: Every. Single. Page. It was amazing, badass and heart-melting! 😍

Interesting Novella, terrible narrator
Most of the time the narrator is decent, but the accents and female voices are atrocious! This is also story wise, the weakest, and it’s really confusing where this lies in the series.
We didn’t need an Alex & Mangnus novella set in the middle the original series, its a dumb concept while they’re still fighting Valentine & his son.

Should be categorized as romance
Romance is fine, homosexuality is fine. But you can write a book about 2 gay men without having them ready for a romp at the end of every other page and for the love of god, add the romance and erotic tags to this. This is just gay twilight without any character building.

Terrible narration
Just… No.
I’m so happy it’s over and I don’t have to listen to this guy butcher characters I’d normally enjoy listening to.
