Publisher's Summary

Has this immortal finally met her match?

Rogue hunter Drina Argenis (from the Spanish side of the Argeneau family) has been many things in her years as an immortal, but bodyguard/babysitter to a teenage vampire is something new. There's an incentive, however: the other vampsitter, Harper Stoyan, may be Drina's life mate.

Trouble is, having just lost a life mate, Harper is resigned to being alone. He's completely unprepared when sexy and unpredictable Drina bursts into his life to reignite his passions. Can Drina, with a little matchmaking help from their teen charge, tempt this reluctant vampire to take a chance?

Or will a dangerous, unseen renegade kill Drina and Harper's one chance at happiness?

Love the Argenueau Series

I always love the Argenueau stories. This one is as good as the rest. The shopping trip to walmart was SO funny. The adjectives "wryly and dryly" were way overused but the story line is great.

Ok

Hmmm. If this wasn't a part of a what used to be a series of really funny enjoyable novels, I would have given 3.5 stars. This book had albeit hot but too much unnecessary sex, lame villain and plot. I also lost who's who from the previous novels except for Lucien or Margarete since there are so many characters.... I think I will stick with the first several novels....

All Around Good

Paula Christensen narrates this book and does a good job. She has believable Italian and British accents, appropriate emotions that rise and fall depending on the drama (or lack thereof) in the story, and the editing is well done. I hope to hear her narrate other stories in this series. The story is good; once again silly, sexy, and dramatic. I especially like the "smelly cat" scene and the shopping at Walmart. If my teenager were as precocious as Stephanie, I wouldn't let her leave the house!!

Port Henry is revisited…

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to a friend, but I believe I would recommend them to read it for themselves over listening to the audiobook. Though Paul Christiansen is vastly better than Victoria McGee, she still isn't as good of a narrator, as I believe this series deserves.

What other book might you compare The Reluctant Vampire to and why?

I don't do the comparison thing & in this case, I'm not sure I've ever read another story that is comparable to this one.

What three words best describe Paula Christensen’s performance?

Not that great. Like I said previously, she is better than Victoria McGee, but not really what I think this series deserves. Her different voices for the different characters are very limited and she seems to reuse and even start fresh with each book reusing voices from previous books.

Love, life Mates and Teens

There is much in common between teens and life mates. The ones in this story are particularly fun. Life events and life decisions can be so overwhelming. Pleased the was Lynsey Sands portrays these and yes Paula is the perfect narrator for this one

Not great

Narrator is way better than Victoria McGee, but I also missed Harper’s German accent used by some other narrators.

Hilarious!

Loved the pace & excitement set in this volume. Having a teen vamp who can read new lifemates and doesn't mind speaking her mind was great! I've been going through the series in order and this one is just as good or better than "single white vampire". Two thumbs up!

HARPER WAS EUROPEAN TOO

I thought it interesting that while the narrator gave Drina a Euro/Portuguese accent she failed to give Harper a Euro/German accent. I felt the performance was a bit lacking when it came to Harper's portrayal. I preferred the earlier rendition of his voice in Accidental Vampire.
