Originally released in the era of the James Bond novels, the Matt Helm novels were considered grittier and more realistic than Bond, garnering them critical praise and ardent fans.

This 2nd in the series reveals more of the Matt Helm character, and he is (more or less) a likeable guy - with a rotten job that he happens to be good at.
This was published in 1961 and is definitely a product of its time, but an enjoyable adventure nonetheless. Narration by Stefan Rudnicki adds a little extra depth to the characters.
