💎 Gem
Captivated by Adam's storytelling narratives. The stories themselves, delivery, and the packaged lessons that were both digestable and actionable. I even got a few laughs in which is always a good sign with non-fiction to break the ice per se.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone working to build themselves & prepared to do the work to make it happen.
Thank you Adam for sharing your incredible insights!

Great resource for learning and applying leadership tools
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Adam writes about his experiences that most can’t relate to (training for and winning a gold medal at the Olympics or his open water rowing adventure) but he makes them relatable and applicable to the everyday leader. He asks thought provoking questions throughout and at the end of each section/chapter, sets aside a summary of areas for personal reflection.
Highly recommend to anyone looking at expanding tools in their toolkit.

Worth it!!
Adam is an outstanding individual with a wealth of insight to share. Being a bit of a ‘professional development’ guru, I expected to find a lot of repetition from other sources. Although he does reference some well known work, much of the content is original and all of it is framed through the lens of his experiences. Personally, I took away 8-10 new ideas and actionable items. Expectations were exceeded. Thanks Adam!!!

Great advice delivered with warmth, humor and clarity.
Full disclosure, I’m one of the people Adam mentions in this book. I rowed across an ocean with him. What that might take away in objectivity it might give insight over someone coming to this book with no connection. In spite of being a bit allergic to the self-help genre I chose to pick up Adam’s book because I’ve known Adam for 15 years was curious to see how all the conversations, we’ve shared over the years translated to the page.
We prepared for and executed a row across the Atlantic Ocean that almost ended in disaster. We were fortunate, and in a weirdly beautiful way turned into a success because of how we handled it…plus a lot of luck and/or divine intervention. In the multiyear process of preparing, doing, and recovering from that we’ve had a lot of hard physical work, laughs, tough meetings, danger and a whole lot of banter. That’s one of the best parts about rowing across an ocean with someone, it’s the opportunity to get to know them well. I’ve seen Adam close to his very best, and close to his very worst.
One of the things that impressed me as we first got to know each other (and made me roll my eyes a bit) was that Adam was always consuming other self-help books. He would think about them, apply them to his lived experience, challenge, tweak, test, and make the ideas his own. Inevitably some of these ideas would come out in some kind of philosophical discussion on a training row, or some discipline, or way of thinking that would be applicable to tackling the challenge of rowing an ocean. Sometimes these sounded cheesy, some flopped, but many really helped. Motivational speaking is his craft, and he is absolutely dedicated to it. Reading this book was like seeing the best of what he knows to be true now, distilled.
After spending four years on a project with him and 73 days in a 30-foot boat with him I thought I might be immune to whatever he had to say. However, in the first few chapters I’d found myself inspired to start drawing up a list of to-dos and reframing some of the challenges in my life.
In person, Adam is a friendly, smart, gregarious, genuine, and funny. He’s not a superficial friend. Reading this book reminded me of those delightful times we’ve sat down over a good meal, and a bottle of wine and had one of those witty, thoughtful, and enlightening conversations that’s left me feeling a bit wiser and motivated at the end of it.
I had such a good time with that I might give other self-help books a try. Ill also be interested to see if Adam rereleases the book once he’s older and garnered new live experiences and perspectives to draw from.

Great manual for reaching your peak.
A must read for anyone in trying to better themselves as well as the teams they are a part of. The book bounces back and forth between strategies for growth and first hand accounts of Adam exemplifying those insights through his own rights of passage as a gold winning Olympic athlete, entrepreneur, and father. While on the outside the target audience might seem to be people in corporate leadership roles as Adam presents certain methods in ways that are easy to present at the next board meeting, the deeper truths contained within speak to anyone trying to improve their ability to set and achieve goals. Adam uses contemporary studies along with Western and Eastern philosophy to craft a roadmap for success and shows where those insights helped him reach his peak.

Great information and actionable steps to improve your life and business. I liked how he used the story of rowing across the Atlantic Ocean to express and relate the ethics to real life events. Made for a much more enjoyable listen. The book also had me laughing out loud multiple times. Highly recommend.

A great storyteller with action-heavy advice
I first discovered Kreek on YouTube. I remember his story telling and his personality shining through, and it was one of the biggest takeaways I’ve had YouTube.
Fast forward, I was told about this book and I instantly purchased it. Not surprisingly, the book is easy to go through but it also compels you to take a moment between chapters and to think through how I would want to implement these ideas.
I’m not yet done but thought I’d share my enthusiasm and will update this once I’m done!

Very Powerful and Motivating
Adam’s Kreek hit on so many topics from learning and even liking to fail, how to stay motivated and enjoy the grind, importance of sleep and diet, and much more. All while telling his fascinating and very entertaining life story. I will be reading and listening to this book multiple times to try and capture as much of Kreek’s wisdom as possible.

Great Audiobook would benefit from a PDF
The content Adam presents is fantastic. It would be nice to have a PDF included to reference the content in the future since it's an audiobook.
