About this listen
I'll do anything not to marry the girl my parents want me to.
Including marrying her brother in a drunken panic.
I'm not gay, but I can fake it long enough to get our parents off my back, right?
Cue hiding out for the next two years, but nothing is that simple, because I'm offered a spot on the US National team.
Now we have to fake it for the entire world as the poster boys of gay fencers while Colin makes me doubt everything I think I am.
I'm not prepared for all the ways I depend on Colin. Or the place he's filling in my life.
But I can't keep this up.
I'm slipping on a national stage.
And he's going to press every button until I snap, ruining this for us both.

I usually regret a sequel… not this time
I don’t like hearing the same voice actors in a sequel featuring different characters but everything was just on point from the voice acting to the plot. Chef’s kiss.

readable but juvenile
the whole book is so undercut by how young they all are. Colin is so worried about his sister being married off to someone because she's SO YOUNG but he's no more than a couple years older. yes, he says he's more mature than she is but it's laughable. also, Colin seems perfectly fine with his friend Isaac being married. Isaac is also no older than 19. very much undercuts the urgency of saving the sister.
all in all this wasn't as good as the first book. this author is great at creating vivid characters but the story didn't do it for me.
also I got SO annoyed by how much they were calling each other Husband by the end. staaaaaaaahp
