Meh, just so-so
Not my favorite book. Seemed a little choppy. Didn’t really get into it so finishing it was kind of a chore. I do, however, LOVE Emily Beresford’s voice. So there’s that. Ha.

Invested enough to finished, but disappointed
Going into this audiobook, I was expecting a light story with some cliche to it, but by the end I was pretty checked out. Spoiler Alert: The story of Ali and Kathrine is 4 hours of build up and then they start banging nonstop, say they love each other, and that's it. Maybe I should have expected that from a semi-erotic novel, but I've read much better writing in general in regards to that genre.
Anyways, if you're into that stuff, I'd say pick this up if you can stand to get through all the build up. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who simply wants to hear a nice romance story about opposites attracting.
As for the narrators, I liked listening to whoever voiced Ali, but the person who voiced Kathrine kind of creeped me out. I was literally laughing out loud during the sexy bits that were voiced by her because of how uncomfortable it made me feel to hear her voice, but that's a personal preference I guess.
I don't think I'd listen to this text in full again, expect maybe to humor someone else. This story just isn't my cup of tea; it's unfortunate that I wasted a credit on it.

Captivating
Our lives often repeatedly cross paths with others who stick with us and haunt us deeply in ways we can't easily explain. This book does a fabulous job of showing that tango of two hearts from both sides as they spin towards each other, drawing closer and closer with each encounter until critical mass is achieved.

Character's narrators wrong
Needs to switch the narrators around for characters for better match. Listen to narrators Gabra Zackman and Emily Beresford in another audio book, I was thinking Emily would fit more light heart fun character while Gabra Zackman would be more serious one
The story is was good for most part

Just Okay
The story itself was entertaining. It spans about a decade and is definitely on the slower burn spectrum. It's a lot of anticipation for such a small amount of romance between the two MCs crammed into the end. I enjoy slow burns so that aspect was nice although unexpected.
I didn't much care for Katherine. I thought she was spoiled, rude, and judgmental and she only got marginally better as the book went on. She judge Ali a lot and I don't think that was addressed enough and she was never really put in her place about it. It's like Ali just accepted it and moved on. I feel like Katherine was placated too much and it really bothered me.
I liked Ali a lot. She didn't apologize for the way she was living her life because it wasn't hurting anyone else. The fact that she even became interested in Katherine was a bit of a surprise, but I got it towards the end.
This book isn't what I would call steamy because nothing happens until the book is almost over and even when it does it was just meh.. I think that's also because Emily Beresford narrated those parts and I wasn't a fan of her narrating. Speaking of...
The narration was okay. Emily Beresford was not my favorite narrator, especially when she was doing Ali's voice. Somehow she made Ali sound like an old man, which was so bizarre. I wasn't wild about her natural accent either. Her e's sounded like a's and it was grinding on me. Ex: "Bed" sounded like "bad." That's just a personal preference though, of course. Gabra Zackman was definitely the better of the two. I didn't mind her narration and I wouldn't shy away from something she narrated. Her voice is deeper so it worked better as the book went on and the characters got older. At first I wasn't wild about it because she did not sound like a 20 something, but I got over it and ended up enjoying it.
Overall, it was a pretty good book. I enjoyed it and it wasn't a chore to get through by any stretch.
