Publisher's Summary

When Care Flight delivered a roughneck to Dr. Heather Hunter's trauma unit, it turned her world upside down. Heather found herself in love with someone her mother found socially unacceptable. Someone whose job was so dangerous, Heather fought falling in love to avoid a broken heart. Little did she know that her loved one was courting danger far deadlier than working on an oil rig.

In the fast-moving, hard-loving world of Texas oil tycoons and terrorists hell-bent on destroying the Texas oil industry, Dr. Hunter finds love in the fast lane breathtaking and indescribably satisfying. Trinidad Winfield was to women what the Silver Ghost was to the Rolls-Royce: one-in-a-million and beyond gorgeous.

“It was like wrapping my legs around a tornado; wild and raging and satisfying. Do you know you growl when you reach a certain point? It’s very animalistic and so damn sexy. I just wanted to clamp my legs around you and suck you in.”

Nice and Neat

I loved this story and the reader! I found the story a bit too predictable however the twist at the end was good!! I loved the characters and how the story line twisted in and out — and the surgeon was remarkable how she could put bodies and limbs back together! The love story was palatable — so sexy those two — and the story line was good and sound — I only have to say is I want more!! Hope there is a sequel!! I enjoyed this book!! The reader was very good!!

Not good.

The characters seemed promising but a good story just did not materialized. No depth. No substance. And a doctor who doesn't know her patient is a female? Completely unrealistic. Not to mention the very questionable part about an untrained individual at a wildlife preserve being allowed to pet a baby rhino with the mother present. I have not researched that possibility but find it highly unlikely. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the writing of other authors. I didn't even make it past the first few chapters.

Thoroughly Enjoyed!!

Enjoyed this book immensely! I liked the narration, which brought the story and its emotions out, the characters, who had great depth and chemistry, and the story overall. My only gripe about the plot is some of it didnt seem realistic at all, but hey, a bit of fantasy never hurt nobody. I would definitely listen to this author/narrator again!!

Why would anyone write this? Women deserve better.

It was attempted rape, not accosted! Too much downplay of violence against women. She was kidnapped for months, but the story skips over the timeframe. Then it isn't a big deal. I have never written a negative review of a book, but maybe this is normal in Texas. I wanted to reach through my speaker and shake the author to see if "That" would actually seem like a big deal. Kidnapping and attempted rape is a BIG DEAL!!!

Wear your MAGA hat for this one

Anti Muslim, there are terrorists all over Texas blowing up oil wells, pro torture, ok to kill innocent Muslims. The performance was sickly sweet breathy like no accent I’ve ever heard in Texas.

Overwhelming and scattered

The book started out promising with the love story of the two MCs but ended up just being a bunch of scattered action that made the book exhausting. Narration was awful. I didn’t finish the book, I just couldn’t.
